발달장애인 부모의 양육스트레스 예측 요인 연구 (Study on the Prediction Factors of Parenting Stress in Parents of People with Developmental Disabilities)

초록

본 연구는 발달장애인 부모의 양육스트레스를 예측하는 인구사회학적 특성, 발달장애인 문제행동, 부모의 심리사회적 특성 변인들을 통합적으로 살펴보고 변인들 중 상대적으로 더 많이 예측할 수 있는 변인을알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구는 G시에 거주하는 만 25세미만의 발달장애인 부모 309명을 조사하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS 18.0을 활용, 부모의 양육스트레스를 종속변인으로 하여 인구사회학적 변인과 발달장애인 문제행동, 부모의 심리사회적 특성 변인인 사회적지지 정도, 양육효능감, 스트레스 대처방식이 발달장애인부모의 양육스트레스에 미치는 영향력을 알기위해 위계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 인구사회학적 변인,발달장애인 문제행동, 부모의 심리사회적 특성 변인 모두 발달장애인 부모의 스트레스를 예측하는 데 통계적으로 유의미함은 양육 뿐 아니라 발달장애인의 문제행동, 사회적지지 정도, 양육효능감, 스트레스 대처시 소극적 방식의 사용에 따라 양육스트레스의 정도가 다름을 나타낸다. 결론적으로 발달장애인을 대상으로 하는 복지서비스에 있어, 노인의 돌봄이 사회적 책임으로 전환됨과 마찬가지로 발달장애인 가족을위한 사회적지지 체계의 확립과 발달장애인 당사자 특성 및 부모의 심리사회적 특성을 통합적으로 다루는국가․사회적 케어시스템에 대한 검토가 필요하다.

영어초록

This study comprehensively examines the factors through which one can predict degrees ofparenting stress of parents for developmental disabled people, such as factors related to asocial-demographic character, behavior problems of developmental disabled persons and parent’spsycho-social character. In addition, it aims to find out which factor would be the mostinfluential to parenting stress of the parents in comparison. The investigations were carried outby surveys of 309 parents among guardians of developmental disabled persons under the age of25 who reside in the city, “G.” The analysis of materials was done with SPSS 18.0. Theresearcher implemented a hierarchical multiple regression analysis in order to predict theinfluence of character factors to parenting stress of the parents by using the parenting stressdegree of parents as dependent variables. The kinds of character factors are social-demographiccharacter; behavior problems of developmental disabled persons; social support perceived by theparents; method of stress management; and parenting self-efficacy, that is, psycho-socialcharacter of the parents.
The social-demographic character, behavior problems of developmental disabled persons andparent’s psycho-social character are all significant to predict the stress degree of parents in thestatistics. It implies that the parenting stress degree could be different according to behaviorproblems of the developmental disabled; social support perceived by the parents;emotion-focused style to cope with stress; and parenting self-efficacy. In consequence, the careservice of the people with developmental disabilities should follow suit after the welfare forsenior citizens, through which the responsibility has been shifted from the individuals into thegovernment. In that sense, a consideration of a national care system for the people with developmental disabilities and their families is necessary, so that it could establish a socialsupport system for the family of the people with developmental disabilities and comprehensivelydeal with psychological problems both of their parents and of people with developmentaldisabilities.
