초록

본 논문의 연구의 배경 및 필요성은 다음과 같다.
그동안의 우리나라 표지정보는 운전자 또는 보행자의의지와 상관없이 도로표지관리국의 일반적인 관행에따라 설치되었으며, 문제점으로 표지판의 표기오류와설치불량, 가독성부족, 등이 정보소통의 문제와 걸림돌이 되고 있다. 또 최근엔 관광안내체계의 표준화 작업또한 중앙정부와 지자체간의 협력 사업으로 관광 선진화에 노력하고 있으나 시각·정보적인 측면과 남녀노소, 내·외국인 등의 다양한 사람들이 동일한 정보를 인지할 수 있도록 해야 하며, 융·복합적인 관점에서 학제적연구가 필요하지만 어느 한 기관의 일방적인 표준화작업에 따른 또 다른 문제를 내포하고 있다. 가장 큰문제점은 광주광역시의 경우 각 표지판의 해당관리감독 부서의 주체가 분명하지 않고, 전문성이 없으며 설치용역 업체가 알아서 설치하는 문제로 인해 똑같은문제점이 계속 반복되고 있는 것이다. 따라서 그에 따른 문제를 해결하고자 본 논문은 광주광역시 관광안내표지에 대한 연구대상과 범위를 설정하고 환경디자인, 정보디자인, 시각디자인의 학제적 복합적인 상황과 오프라인상의 운전자와 보행자 입장에서 좀 더 효과적인가독성과 관리 및 설치방안을 제시하고자 하는데 연구- 200 - 의 목적이 있다. 구체적으로는 현재 광주광역시 관광안내표지의 문제와 서울특별시 표지판개선사업의 현황과 비교하고 국내·외 사례를 제시 후 문제해결방안을제안하고자 한다. 본 논문의 연구방법 및 범위, 내용, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 즉, 서론에서 연구 목적과 방법 및 범위, 본론으로 관광안내표지의 개념과 중요성, 그리고 문제점을 살펴보았다. 특히, 본론에서는 관광안내표지의 구성요소와 광주광역시 관광안내표지의 현황, 그리고 융·복합적인 정보디자인적 접근을 통해 개선방안을 제시하고자 했다. 또 관광안내표지의 국내·외사례와 차이점을 제시하고자 하였으며 우리나라의 현황과 문제, 타 도시의 관리체계 등을 살펴보고, 마지막으로 결론과 제언으로 광주광역시의 관광안내표지의개선방안을 도출하여 학제적으로 효과적인 설치를 제안하였다.

영어초록

The background and need of this study are as follows. In Korea, sign information has been built in accordance with custom of the bureau of road sign management regardless of drivers' or pedestrians' will.
The written error, poor building, and lack of readability of road signs are the chief obstacles to communication.
Although the central government has strived to standardize tourist information system for advanced tourism in cooperation with local governments, visual and information aspects should be considered and the same information should be perceived regardless of age, sex, natives, or foreigners. Interdisciplinary research is necessary in the convergence aspect but it involves other problems related to one-sided standardization of certain body. The biggest problem in Gwangju Metropolitan City is that the same problem is repeated because of unclear managing and superintendent departments of road signs, lack of professionalism, and subcontractor's self-building. Therefore, to solve such problems, this study aims to establish the subject and scope of the study on tourist signs in Gwangju Metropolitan City, present interdisciplinary and complex situations of environment design, information design, and visual design, and suggest more effective methods for readability, management, and establishment in the place of drivers and pedestrians. Specifically, this study is intended to compare tourist sign problems in Gwangju with the situations of the sign improvement project in Seoul, give domestic and foreign cases, and suggest solutions. The methodology, scope, contents, and results are as follows. Introduction addressed the objectives, methods, and scope of the study. The main body examined the concept, importance, and problems of tourist signs. Specifically, it focused on improvement methods through the components of tourist signs, the situation of tourist signs in Gwangju Metropolitan City, and the convergence information design approach.
Moreover, it gave domestic and foreign cases and differences of tourist signs, examined the situations and problems in Korea and the management system in other cities. Finally, Conclusions and Suggestion derived improvement methods for tourist signs in Gwangju Metropolitan City and suggested more effective building in the interdisciplinary aspect.
