한국, 핀란드, 노르웨이 교육과정 내 유아사회교육 내용 비교⋅분석 (Comparison and analysis of the contents of social studies in early childhood education in Korea, Finland and Norway)

초록

목적 본 연구는 2019 개정 누리과정과 핀란드, 노르웨이의 국가수준 교육과정에 나타난 유아사회교육 내용을 비교⋅분석하여 우리나라 유아사회교육 내용에 대한 시사점을 탐색하였다.
방법 누리과정과 핀란드의 유아교육⋅보육 핵심교육과정, 노르웨이의 유치원 프레임워크 계획에서 유아사회교육 내용을 추출하여유아사회교육 내용 및 범주, 미국사회교육협회의 사회교육과정 주제, 유아사회교육의 (학습)영역, 범주 및 내용을 비교⋅분석하였다.
결과 누리과정 유아사회교육 내용이 보다 광범위한 학습영역과 연결되어 통합적 성격을 가질 수 있으며 유아사회과학 지식 중 경제, 역사도 유아사회교육 내용으로 더 적극적으로 드러날 필요가 있다. 유아사회교육에서 자기인식과 자기존중, 윤리적 사고나 철학적질문을 탐색하는 사고 과정, 유아 일상과 연결하여 다양성 이슈를 연결, 정의와 공평 개념 추가, 비판적 관점으로 확대, 지역사회에서의 실천과 참여라는 측면에서 유아사회교육 내용의 범위와 깊이를 확장할 수 있다.
결론 사회적 페다고지 접근을 가진 핀란드와 노르웨이와의 비교에서 유아사회교육의 보다 통합적인 간학문적 접근, 사회성과 사회과학지식의 균형, 유아의 사고 과정 장려, 다양성, 정의와 공평, 실천 및 참여에 대한 적극적인 인식이 필요하다.

영어초록

Objectives This study compared and analyzed the content of social studies in early childhood education within the 2019 Revised Nuri Curriculum and the national curricula of Finland and Norway to explore implications for the content of social studies in Korea.
Methods The contents of social studies in early childhood education were extracted from the Nuri Curriculum, Finland's National Core Curriculum for early childhood education and care and Norway's Framework Plan for kindergartens. Each curriculum’s the contents of social studies were compared and analyzed based on the categories of social studies in early childhood education, social education curriculum topics from the American Social Education Association, and learning areas, categories, and contents.
Results The contents of social studies in early childhood education can be connected and integrated to a broader range of learning areas. Among the social science knowledge, economics and history can also be included in the curriculum. Self-awareness and self-respect, ethical thinking and philosophical questions, diversity issues, justice or fairness, critical perspectives, and practices and participation in the community will allow the scope and depth of the social studies in early childhood education.
Conclusions In comparison with Finland and Norway with a social pedagogy approach, a more integrated interdisciplinary approach to the social studies in early childhood education, balance between social development and social science knowledge, encouragement of young children's thinking processes, and active awareness of diversity, justice and fairness, and practice and participation are needed.
