유-초 연계를 위한 어머니의 유아교사 역할기대와 양육효능감 간의 관계 (The Relationship between Expectations for Early Childhood Teachers' Role and Parenting Efficacy of Mothers for Continuity between Kindergarten and Elementary School)

초록

본 연구는 유아교육과 초등교육 간의 바람직하고 효율적인 연계를 통해 발달에 적합하면서도 질 높은 교육이 이루어지도록 어머니가 기대하는 유아교사의 역할에 대해 알아보고 어머니 양육효능감과의 차이 및 관계를 분석하는 것에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 경기도 S시에 소재한 유치원과 어린이집 만5세 자녀의 어머니 386명을 대상으로 유아교사 역할 평정척도, 어머니 양육효능감 평정척도를 사용하여 2017년 1월 2일부터 5주간 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니는 유-초 연계를 위한 유아교사 역할에 대해 사회정서지원, 기본생활습관지도, 부모와의 협력, 학습능력향상, 교수계획의 순으로 기대하는 것으로 나타났으며 모든 면에서 보통 수준보다 높게 기대하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유-초 연계를 위한 유아교사 역할기대는 어머니 양육효능감 수준에 따라 차이가 나타났으며 양육효능감 수준이 높은 어머니일수록 교사 역할을 높게 기대하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 유-초 연계를 위한 유아교사 역할기대와 어머니 양육효능감은 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 본 연구는 유-초 연계를 위한 유아교사 역할기대는 어머니의 양육효능감에 따라 차이가 있으며 어머니의 양육효능감과 정적 관계가 있음을 파악하여 보다 원활한 유-초 연계교육을 위해서는 어머니의 양육효능감을 높이고 가정과 유아교육기관의 연계 또한 필요하다는 결과를 밝혀내었다는 데 의의가 있다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of early childhood teachers that mothers expect for education suited for development and education of high quality through desirable and effective continuity between early childhood and elementary education, and analyze the relationship between the role and mothers’ parenting efficacy. For the foregoing, this study conducted a survey using rating scales for early childhood teachers' role and mothers’ parenting efficacy targeting 386 mothers of 5-year old children enrolled in kindergartens and day care centers located in S city, Gyeonggi-do. Study results are as follows. First, with respect to the role of early childhood teachers for continuity between kindergarten and elementary school, results show that mothers expect in order of support for social emotion, guidance on the basic living habits, cooperation with parents, improvement of learning ability and teaching plan, and expect higher than average level in all aspects. Second, expectation level of early childhood teachers' role for continuity between kindergarten and elementary school differed according to the level of mothers’ parenting efficacy, and mothers with higher level of parenting efficacy have higher expectation level for teachers’ role. Third, expectation level for early childhood teachers' role for continuity between kindergarten and elementary school and mothers’ parenting efficacy showed a positive correlation. This study is considered meaningful in the way that it produced a result that levels of expectations for early childhood teachers' role for continuity between kindergarten and elementary school differ according to mothers’ parenting efficacy, and it is necessary to raise mothers’ parenting efficacy and connection of home and institution is also needed for smooth continuity between kindergarten and elementary school education by understanding that level of expectations for early childhood teachers' role and mothers‘ parenting efficacy have a positive correlation.
