초록

This study investigated the operational statuses and policy issues of wellness tourist destinations in Gangwon region through a literature review, frequency analysis and cross-analysis of domestic wellness tourist destinations, also with individual in-depth interviews with those involved in the operation of wellness tourist destinations in Jeongseon-gun, the metropolitan and local government with the most wellness tourist destinations. According to the survey, Gangwon region was evaluated to have the number of designated wellness tourist destinations more than three times the national average, has specialization in healing and meditation, and has core regions in Yeongdong and southern Gangwon. It was found that the killer program and main user class differed by wellness tourist destination, mainly using SNS as promotional marketing, and related networks have not yet been established. The weakness is poor accessibility, and to overcome this, strengthening the strengths of each wellness tourist destination and developing policies to raise Gangwon-type wellness tourism, which combines natural healing and healthy meal experiences, to the level of recreational medicine are suggested. In addition, the development of customized programs for each target, linkage with ‘healing forests’ and forest healing instructors, introduction of a detailed certification system, and establishment of an integrated public-private council were required as policy issues.
