초록

이승만 하야로부터 이듬해 5 · 16까지의 시기를 대상으로 한 부산지역의 통일운동을 다루었다.
부산지역 통일운동세력은 혁신정당과 청년 · 학생운동이 중심을 이루며 잘 발달해 있었다. 통일논의의 경우, 대표적인 지역신문인 부산일보와 국제신보에 반영되었으며 혁신계 동향과 통일문제를 다루면서 경쟁하였다. 부산지역 통일운동의 구심체는 당시 전국적 통일운동의 중심이었던 민자통의경남 지방조직이었다. 민자통은 부산지역의 진보적 지식인 이종률의 구상에 의해 조직되었고 민민청 등 부산지역 청년운동가들의 적극적 활동에 의해 전국적 세력화가 가능하였다. 그런 점에서 부산지역의 선도적 지역성(leading locality)은 통일운동의 탈지역성이라는 성격을 띤 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이러한 현상은 한국전쟁 시기 피점령지로서의 특수한 경험을 반영하는 것으로 이해된다.

영어초록

This paper aims at studying unification movement and discourse conducted in Busan from the April 26th 1960, which is the year of the Korea’s first president Lee’s departure to the May 16th, the following year. The central force leading the movements of this region were Reformist Parties and young men’s association including students.
The Reformist parties emerged as a leading force of the movement in Busan, where is earlier organized than other regions and each local parties was very systematic. In terms of nationwide movements,Reformist parties of Busan and Gyeongnam province shown a leading role while undergoing growth, division and integration. Other local movements were developed with Minjatong as a center and young men’s organizations like Minminchyung, Mintongryun, Huyunhoe,Association of Gyeongnam Students took on a big job.
The unification discourse phenomenally developed in the period of May 19th Resistance. In the regions with Busan as a center, the representative local press was Busanilbo and Kookjesinbo. Both of them took the lead in developing the trend of reform and unification movement however, Kookjesinbo worked more actively.
The core organization playing a key role in Busan area was Minjatong and in other areas as well. Minjatong had been organized by Lee Jong Ryul who was a progressive intellectual in Busan and had expanded its power nationwide owing to young men’s active role.
The overall trend of those movements in Busan was very pioneering.
First of all, the leading locality of unification movement developed in Busan along with Daegu Gyeongbuk area ensures that it is the foundation of delocality. It is understood that this is based on the reflection of specific experience as an occupied country during the Korean War.
