새로운 교육과정에서 교육대학교 체육과 심화과정 교육의 방향 (Direction of Physical Education Intensive Courses at Education Universities Reflecting New Physical Education Curriculum)

초록

이 연구는 신체 활동 가치를 실현하고 내면화하는 것을 목표로 하는 새로운 체육교육 방향 속에서 교육대학교 체육교육과 심화과정이 어떠한 방향에서 구성되고 운영되어야 하는지 그 방향을 제시하고자 연구가 수행되었다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 전국 10개 교대의 체육과 심화교육과정의 특징과 체육과 심화교육과정에 대한 재학생의 인식을 살펴보았다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전국 교대의 체육과 심화교육과정은 체육학 이론과 실기과목으로 구성되어 있었으며, 대부분의 이론 과목은 해당 대학의 교수 전공에 따른 교과내용학 중심으로 개설되고 있었다. 둘째, 전국 교대의 체육과 심화교육과정 운영방식을 살펴본 결과 필수와 선택과목으로 운영되고 있었다. 그러나 필수와 선택과목 구분에 있어서 명확한 기준이 마련되어 있지 않았다. 셋째, 교대 체육과 심화과정에 재학하고 있는 학생들은 희망순위에 따라 심화과정이 배정되고 있으며, 심화과정 선택 만족도 낮았다. 특히, 후순위에 선택된 학생의 경우 그 정도가 심했으며, 타 심화과정으로 전과 희망 또한 높았다. 이러한 결과를 통해 교육대학교 체육과 심화교육과정 교육의 방향을 다음과 같이 제안하였다. 첫째, 체육수업에 필요한 체육교과내용지식의 습득을 위한 과목 개설이 필요하며, 이를 위해 체육교과내용지식을 구성하는 하위 요소에 대한 교사교육자간의 합의가 필요하다. 둘째, 신체 활동 가치 습득을 지향하는 새로운 체육과 교육과정의 교육 방향이 체육과 심화교육과정에 반영되어야 한다. 셋째, 실제 체육수업 상황 속에서 적용할 수 있는 실천적 지식을 습득할 수 있는 직전교사교육이 이루어져야 한다. 넷째, 교대생들의 체육경험 한계를 극복할 수 있는 방안으로 교대 입학 이전의 체육학습 경험이 입시에 반영되어야 한다.

영어초록

As physical education pursues to help children learn and internalize the value of physical activities, this study aims to suggest a direction for the development and operation of physical education intensive courses at education universities. The study was conducted in two levels to achieve this purpose. First, 10 education universities nationwide running intensive courses were analyzed for their subject characteristics and weaknesses. Second, the perception of students taking these courses was evaluated. All of the intensive courses from the surveyed universities were basically composed of theoretical subjects and practical subjects. And most of the theoretical subjects were focused on the professors’ major-related contents. Regarding the operational method of intensive courses, most of the education universities did not have clear guidelines between required and elective subjects even though they run the courses based on such division. Lastly, students were admitted to the courses based on their preferences and the overall satisfaction was low. In particular, the satisfaction level of those who were admitted to the course they chose as their second or third preference was exceptionally low, and many of these students wanted to change their major. Based on these results, the study suggests a direction for physical education intensive courses at education universities as follows:First, subjects where students can learn the knowledge of physical education contents need to be open. Agreement on elements composing physical education contents should be a prerequisite to this.
Second, the new direction of physical education curricula should be incorporated into the intensive courses.
Third, education for preparatory teachers should be conducted to teach them practical knowledge that can be used in actual classes.
Fourth, as an alternative to overcome students’ limited experiences of physical education, experience of physical education before entering education universities should be taken into account for university entrance examination.
