<소쇄원30영(瀟灑園三十詠)>을 통하여 본 소쇄원 外園의 공간구성 (A Study on Exterior Configuration of Soswaewon in <30 Poems of Soswaewon>)

초록

그간 소쇄원에 대한 연구는 조성연대, 사회적 배경, 조성자, 공간구성, 이곳을 드나들었던 방문객 등에 관한 것이었다. 또한 「소쇄원48영」과 「소쇄원도」에 의하여 소쇄원의 조영자와 공간구성, 그 내부에 있는 조경물 등에 대하여 內園을 중심으로 한 借景特性에 관하여 이루어져 왔다. 따라서 본고에서는 기존 연구에서 주로 다루었던 소쇄원의 내부공간에 국한되지 않고 근자에 새롭게 인식되고 있는 소쇄원 外園의 의미와 공간에 대하여 고찰하고자 한다. 소쇄원 외원 공간구성의 준거가 되는 양경지의 「소쇄원30영」을 통하여 소쇄원 외원구성을 파악하고 소쇄원 내원에 다소 한정되었던 관점을 소쇄원의 외원까지 확대 고찰하여 공간적 범역과 구성요소들이 지니는 의미를 새롭게 파악해보고자 한다.

영어초록

The purposes of this study are to analyze the spatial composition of the outer garden of Soswaewon that appears in Gyeong-Ji Yang’s “30Poems of Soswaewon” and examine its significance and symbols. These poems by Gyeong-Ji Yang are important historical records thatportray the appearance of Soswaewon and the space outside it at the end of the 17th century. Unlike “48 Poems of Soswaewon” or“Soswaewondo,” these poems arenot limited to Soswaewon and its surroundings; theyalso include areas from the village entrance upwardtothe peak of the mountain behind the village. These poems can be divided into three main parts. Jiseok-ri and Changam-dong in poems 1 and2 provide first impressions of the village in which the main Soswaewon garden is located, whereas poems 3 to 8 and poems 10 to 12describe the space inside Soswaewon. Poems 13 to 30 depict the beautiful scenery around the outer garden of Soswaewon.
In general, about 30% of the compilation in “30 Poems of Soswaewon” celebrates the inner Soswaewon, and the remaining 70% depicts thescenery around Soswaewon (i.e., views of the outer garden). It is presumed that Gyeong-Ji Yang employed this structure to achieve sometype of order. Between the “48 Poems of Soswaewon”—also describing Soswaewon—and “Soswaewondo,” which is a woodprint drawing ofSoswaewon, “30 Poems of Soswaewon” offers the widest coverage of Soswaewon.
Compared to “48 Poems of Soswaewon,” which addresses the scene inside Soswaewon, new buildings such as the Jaeweoldang,Buhweondang, and Hancheonsa appear in “30 Poems of Soswaewon.” Thus, the latter covers a much wider range. Chimgye Munbang -Gwangpunggak, Yangdandongo - Aeyangdang, Byeongseogjuggeun - Jajukchong, etc. are mentioned in both compilations. The use of a widerange of natural objects in these 30 poems, including mountains, birds, and the sky (instead of trees and flowers), shows that the authorperceived Soswaewon as an area with a much
