초록

신라는 6세기 중엽부터 한강유역을 지배해 나갔고, 그 과정에서 古墳을 비롯한 城郭과 佛敎遺蹟 등 많은 문화유산을 남겼다. 특히 고분 축조의 중심시기는 7세기부터 8세기 전반까지로 생각되며, 이들 고분들은 신라의 北進經路와 밀접한 관련이 있다.
입지면에서 하남 덕풍골이나 금암산 고분군의 경우 석실분이 산의 정상부나 줄기에 조성된 반면, 석곽묘는 대부분 경사면으로 내려가 있거나 석실분과 약간의 거리를 둔 분포양상을 보여주고 있다. 그 외 다른지역 고분들은 산의 정상부나 줄기보다 경사면을 선호하여 축조되었다. 長軸과 頭向方向에 있어서 대부분의 고분들은 등고선과 직교하면서 장축을 북동쪽이나 북쪽, 북서쪽으로 둔 것이 전체의 절반 정도로 확인되었다. 구조적인 면에서는 묘실을 벽체의 1/3이나 1/2 정도만 파고 난 후 벽을 쌓고, 묘광은 벽체보다 10~40㎝ 넓게 굴착했으며 벽체를 수직으로 축조한 것이 많다. 묘광의 장단비는 하남이나 용인지역의 고분이 공통적인데 비해 부천 고강동이나 군포 산본동의 석곽묘들은 평균값보다 細長한 비율을 보였다. 석실분은 橫口式보다 橫穴式이 많이 축조되었지만 입구의 위치는 각기 달랐고, 석곽묘는 竪穴式보다 橫口式이 월등히 많은 비율을 차지함을 알 수 있다.
