성경적 상황화를 위한 엘렝틱스의 평가와 적용 (Evaluation and Application of Elentics for the Biblical Contextualization)

초록

본 논문은 성경적 상황화를 위해 ‘엘렝틱스’(Elentics)의 선교적 적용을 평가하는 데 목적이 있다. 성경적 상황화는 특정 문화를 위해 복음을 상황화하는 것이 아니라, 그 문화에 성경의 메시지가 의미변형이나 왜곡됨 없이 제대로 의미를 전달하기 위한 것이다. 이런 성경적 상황화를 위해서는 문화와 복음 간의 상관관계 이해가 필수적이다. 따라서 저자는 성경적 상황화를 위해 문화를 성경과 인류학적 관점에서 고찰하는 것으로부터 출발한다. 문화이해는 메시지에 대한 사람들의 그릇된 문화적 선입견을 교정하고, 성경의 진리를 다양한 문화에서 효과적으로 소통하는 것을 가능케 한다. 이런 점에서, 문화이해는 상황화에 있어 필수적이다. 그러나 오늘날 성경적 상황화를 위한 선교적 과제는 성경해석학의 위기로 인해 가중된다. 특히 포스트모더니즘을 맞이해서 오늘날 WCC의 상황화 신학은 성경 메시지의 충실한 전달보다, 특정 문화에 적합한 복음을 제시하고자 복음을 상황화 할 것을 장려한다.
하지만 본 논문은 지역적 상황화 신학들을 통해서가 아니라 엘렝틱스를 통한 성경적 상화화의 실천을 신중히 제안한다. 여기서 엘렝틱스란 문화 속에 숨겨진 하나님을 대적하는 모든 거짓된 종교와 그릇된 이교도들의 죄악을 폭로하고 책망하는 학문(Science)을 의미한다. 즉, 엘렝틱스는 죄인으로 하여금 예수 그리스도를 믿고 회개에 이르게 하고 죄로 오염된 문화를 변혁하는 것이다. 그러므로 개혁주의 신학의 관점에서 엘렝틱스를 통한 성경적 상황화는 타문화 선교에 있어 매우 필수적이다. 왜냐하면 성경적 상황화는 성경의 권위를 존중하고 복음을 통해 죄로 오염된 문화의 변혁을 추구하기 때문이다. 그리고 엘렝틱스는 성경적 상황화을 위해서 가장 기본적으로 제시되어야 할 선교적 접근으로 평가되어야 한다.

영어초록

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the missionary application of Elentics in the biblical contextualization. Biblical contextualization refers not to the contextualization of the Gospel in certain culture, but to a proper delivery of biblical messages to the culture without any distortion in meanings and purposes. For such biblical contextualization, understanding the correlation between the culture in concern and the Gospel is critical. Therefore, this study begins from evaluating the culture from biblical and anthropological perspective for the biblical contextualization. Understanding a culture allows one to rectify any faulty stereotypes the people in a culture have towards the message delivered and to promote effective communication of the truth in the Bible in various cultures. Consequently, understanding the culture is essential for the contextualization. However, there has been more weight put on the missionary tasks in the modern biblical contextualization because of the hermeneutical crisis. Specifically, with the arrival of the postmodernism, the current contextual theology of WCC encourages contextualization of the Gospel through introduction of suitable Gospel to certain cultures rather than direct delivery of the messages in the Bible. Nevertheless, the conclusion of this study carefully raises a proposal of the practices of the biblical contextualization not through the local contextal theology, but through the Elentics. The Elentics refers to the science of revealing and reproofing the sins and faults of the heathen pagans of all other religions that are against the God in a culture. In other words, Elentics is what brings the sinners to repent their sins in belief in the Jesus Christ and causes the revolution of a culture that is contaminated by the sins. Accordingly, from the point of view of the reformist theology, the biblical contextualization through Elentics is critical as it respects the authority of the Bible and pursues an evangelical revolution of a culture contaminated by the sin. Moreover, it is necessary for the Elentics to be evaluated with a missionary approach, which primarily has to be considered for the biblical contextualization.
