제조업 분야 창업가의 기업가정신과 경험특성이 기업의 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Impact of Entrepreneurship and Experience on the Firm’s Performance in Manufacturing Industry)

초록

최근 세계경제의 중장기적 불황과 성장률의 하락을 경험하고 있는 가운데, 새로운 상품이나 서비스를 탄생시키고 생산방식의 변화와 혁신을 통해 경제적 효율성을 높이는 창업에의 관심이 날로 높아지고 있다. 이러한 분위기에서 우리의 중소벤처기업들과 창업활동은 한 국가경제에 미치는 영향이 매우 크다는 것을 모두 공감하고 있으며, 이러한 생계형 창업을 넘어 기업의 성과를 높일 수 있도록 하기 위한 다양한 노력들이 지속되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적 역시 창업가의 기업가정신과 경험적 특성이 사업성과와 어떠한 상관관계를 가지는지 조사하여 중소벤처기업들의 성과에 미치는 영향변수를 분석 하려는데 있다. 본 연구에서는 창업가의 기업가정신과 경험적 특성이 경영성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구를 혁신경영 역량의 매개효과를 중심으로 진행하였다. 창업가가 사업성공을 위해 가져야 할 특성에는 창업가의 배경적 특성(학력, 창업관련 강좌 수강, 가족이나 지인의 주변창업, 창업가의 과거 창업경험 등) 창업가의 심리적 특성, 창업가의 관리적 역량, 창업가의 전략적 성향이 있다. 이러한 다양한 변수들 중 창업가의 배경적 특성에 속하고 있는 개인의 경험적 특성이 사업성과에 미치는 영향에 대해 중점적으로 연구를 진행하였다. 그리고 창업가가 가지고 있는 경험 중 유사업종의 근무경험과 경영관리경험은 마케팅 혁신역량을 높이는데 긍정적인 효과를 나타내고 있었고, 이러한 혁신경영역량은 기업의 성과에 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있었다. 또한 혁신경영역량은 오직 기업가정신과 기업의 비재무적 성과와의 관계에 완전한 매개역할을 하고 있었으며, 재무적인 성과에는 매개역할을 하지 못하고 있었다. 그리고 창업가의 경험적 특성은 불완전 매개역할을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영어초록

In recent years, while the global economic recession and declining growth rates continue, interest in entrepreneurship has been rising for the purpose of raising economic efficiency through changes in production methods and innovations to create new goods and services. In this environment, we agree that the entrepreneurship of SMEs and entrepreneurs has a great impact on a nation's economy, and various efforts are being made to improve business performance beyond these start-ups aimed at livelihoods by the entrepreneurship of SMEs and entrepreneurs. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the empirical characteristics of entrepreneurs and business performance, and to analyze the influence variables on the performance of SMEs. In particular, this study focused on the mediating effects of innovative managerial competence on the effects of entrepreneurship and empirical characteristics of entrepreneurs on business performance. Characteristics that the entrepreneur must have for the success of the business include the background characteristics of the entrepreneur (education, taking courses related to entrepreneurship, surrounding entrepreneurship of the family or acquaintances, past entrepreneurial experience of the entrepreneur, etc.), the psychological characteristics of the entrepreneur(desire for achievement, tendency to take risks, tolerance for ambiguity), the managerial competence of the entrepreneur(managerial ability, entrepreneurial ability, technical-functional ability), and the strategic tendency of the entrepreneur(product – service innovation differentiation strategy propensity, marketing differentiation strategy propensity, cost advantage strategy propensity). Among these various variables, we focused on the influence of the empirical characteristics of the individual who belong to the background characteristics of the founder on the business performance. As a result, experience in business and management experience in similar industries shows positive effects in enhancing marketing innovation capability. This innovative management capability has a significant effect on the performance of the company. In addition, the innovative management competence played a mediating role only in the relationship between entrepreneurship and non - financial performance of the firm and did not mediate financial performance. And the empirical characteristics of the entrepreneurs are found to play an imperfect intermediary role.
