재아르헨티나 코리언 이민문학의 형성과 전개양상 (The formation and development of Korean immigrant literature in Argentina)

초록

The purpose of this thesis is to study the history of Korean Diaspora, especially focussed on Korean-Argentines and their literature features. Also the characteristics of their literature were analysed by diaspora view of the world and post-boundary hybridity. First of all, to understand the formation and development of Korean-Argentines society, 'The association of Korea', 'The study group of immigration culture', 'The group-We', and 'The Korean writers' association in Argentina' were studied. Additionally, the formation of Korean literature associations in Argentina in its early period was researched and studied with their literary magazines, individual story collections and their literary works.
When it comes to the contents of their literature, the main themes of their poems are about national consciousness, the nature in South America, daily life of immigrants, religious humanism, and introspection and the main themes of their novels are about the hard time Koreans went through in early stage of immigration, outsider's life as a foreigner, cultural conflicts, harmony and disharmony among Koreans in Argentina, children's education and generation gap, nostalgia, and self-identity. In their essays, Korean-Argentines' settlement drama and their daily lives are portrayed in a laconical and contemplative style. Especially, the literary magazine 'Los-Andes literature' issued by 'the Korean writer's association in Argentina and the paper from 'The group-We' ('We', 'Weekly We', 'Monthly We') are meaningful in the literary history.
There is a limit to understanding characters of multi-layer and post boundary, which would be the strength in Diaspora literature, by studying Korean-Argentines individual works including 'Los-Andes literature'. Because there is a lack of integration to embrace the major groups and the minor groups (or the mainstreamers and the non-mainstreamers) based on the post-boundary writer groups and literary genre.
However, Various media and individual story collections from the Korean society in Argentina have a historical meaning in recording their hardship in immigration experiences. Also they show communication efforts among Koreans in Argentina, the co-relation with foreign cultures, the finding of their self-identity, and the pursuit of mental culture. This diaspora literature based on post-boundary hybridity in South America provides lots of meaning to Korean society that is moving towards multi-racial and multi-cultural society.
