한국어 베트남어 번역 텍스트에 나타난대용표현 연구― 문학 작품 번역 텍스트를 중심으로 ― (A Study on Substitute Expressions in Korean-Vietnamese Translated Texts:Focus on Literary Works)

초록

본 연구는 『멈추면 보이는 것들』(혜민, 2012), 『가시고기』(조창인, 2000), 『두근두근 내 인생』(김애란, 2011) 문학 작품을 중심으로 한국어-베트남어 번역 텍스트에 나타난 텍스트 결속장치인 대용표현을 통사와 의미 관점에서 대체, 생략, 첨가 현상으로 분류하고 제시하였다. 한국어와 베트남어는 언어구조적 차이가 있으며 표층결속구조도 언어에 따라 다르다. 이로 인해 번역할 때 텍스트 결속장치인 지시사가 다르게 표현되고 텍스트의 결속성도 그만큼 차이가 있다. 이 차이를 확인하기 위해 본 연구는 문학 작품을 중심으로 한국어-베트남어 번역 텍스트에 나타난 대용표현 양상을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 대용표현을 대체 현상(원작에 있던 주어 자리의 지시대명사가 번역문에서 다른 표현으로 나타나는 현상, 원작에 있던 주어가 생략된 ‘체언+이다’ 구조가 번역문에서 지시사로 대체되면서 주어 자리에 오는 현상), 생략 현상(지시대명사와 지시관형사가 번역문에서 생략되는 현상), 첨가 현상(주어 자리에 지시대명사 첨가, 주어 자리에 지시형용사 첨가, 목적어 자리에 지시형용사 첨가)으로 분류하여 제시하였다. 이 현상들은 양국 언어구조적 차이뿐만 아니라 상황, 맥락에 따라 발생했으나 이 중에서 대체와 첨가 현상은 대부분 ‘체언+이다’ 구문에서 발생하며 생략 현상은 대부분 상황, 문맥에 따라 일어나는 특징이 있다. 이러한 지시사 'đây/này/kia/ấy/đó/đấy' 등의 번역이 번역문이 원작과는 다르게 작품 속 인물의 감정을 강조하거나 공간, 흐름을 살리면서 독자의 상상력과 해석을 자극하여 작품의 맥락을 더 깊이 이해할 수 있게 해 준다. 본 연구는 언어구조적 관점, 텍스트의 대용표현 관점, 문학적 형상화 관점에서 양국 지시사의 특징을 밝혔다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영어초록

This study analyzed substitute expressions, a text-binding device observed in Korean-Vietnamese translated texts. The primary focus was on literary works, such as “Things You See When You Stop (Hye-min, 2012),” “Thornfish (Cho Chang-in, 2000),” and “My Exciting Life (Kim Ae-ran, 2011).” From a semantic perspective, the phenomenon was classified and presented as substitution, omission, and addition. Korean and Vietnamese have linguistic structural differences, and the surface cohesion structure also varies depending on the language. Consequently, the indicator, which is a text-binding device, is expressed differently while translating. Furthermore, the coherence of the text also differs. To confirm this difference, this study analyzed the patterns of substitute expressions in Korean-Vietnamese translated texts, focusing on literary works. The analysis revealed several phenomena. First, the phenomenon of substitution of substitute expressions. It is when the original demonstrative pronoun in the subject position appears in a different expression in the translated version. It is also when the “a substantive + is” structure in which the subject in the original text is omitted and replaced with a demonstrative in the translated version, which appears in the subject position. Second, the omission phenomenon. It is when the demonstrative pronouns and demonstrative adjectives are omitted from the translated texts. Third, the addition phenomenon. It entails adding demonstrative pronouns in the place of the subject, demonstrative adjectives in the place of the subject, and demonstrative adjectives in the place of the object. These phenomena occurred not only due to linguistic structural differences between the two countries but also depending on the situation and context. However, among these, the substitution and addition phenomena mostly occurred in the phrase “a substantive + is,” and the omission phenomenon mostly occurred depending on the situation and context. Unlike the original, the translation of such demonstratives as “đây/này/kia/ấy/đó/đấy” stimulates the reader's imagination and interpretation by emphasizing the emotions of the characters in the work or preserving the space and flow. It provides a deeper contextual understanding of the work. This study is significant because it reveals the characteristics of deictic history in both countries from the perspectives of linguistic structure, text substitution, and literary figuration.
