17세기 실록형지안에 수록된 일반서책 목록에 관한 연구 (A Study on the List of General Books Included in Sillok-Hyeongjian in the 17th Century)

초록

조선시대 각 사고에서는 실록을 비롯하여 소장된 장서를 점검한 기록인 실록형지안을 남겼다. 본 연구는 17세기 적상산사고, 오대산사고, 태백산사고, 정족산사고 등 네 곳의 사고에서 17세기에 걸쳐서 작성된 실록형지안 31종을 대상으로 여기에 수록된 일반서책의 목록에 대해 조사한 것이다. 조사된 결과를 요약 정리하면 다음과 같다.
우선 네 곳의 사고 가운데 일반서책을 가장 많이 수록하고 있던 곳은 정족산사고로 전체의 3분의 1에 해당하는 서책을 수록하고 있었다. 정족산사고는 다른 사고에 비해서 의궤류, 천문산법류, 개인문집 등을 월등히 많이 수록하고 있었다. 따라서 조선후기 정족산사고는 다른 사고에 비해서 차별화된 위상과 기능을 가지고 있었음을 알 수 있다. 정족산사고를 제외한 나머지 세 사고들 사이에는 양적으로 큰 차이가 없었다.
다음으로 17세기 형지안에 수록된 일반서책 규모의 연도별 변화를 살펴보면 17세기 전반기에는 급격하게 증가하다가 17세기 후반기에 들어서면 일정한 규모를 유지하고 있다. 이러한 변화를 통해 임진왜란과 병자호란으로 인해 파괴되었던 사고들이 17세기에 들어서 재건되는 과정을 엿볼 수 있다. 형지안에 수록된 일반서책들은 당시의 사고의 사정을 잘 반영하고 있기 때문이다.
본 연구의 결과는 관련 연구자에게 보다 심화된 연구 자료를 제공하고, 현재 규장각과 장서각에 소장된 왕실도서의 목록을 재정비하여 귀중본을 발굴하는 데에도 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

The respective National Archive (史庫) of the Joseon Dynasty left the Sillok-Hyeongjian (實錄形止案), the collection list of book stock including Silloks (Annals of Joseon Dynasty).
This study examined the list of general books included in 31 kinds of Sillok-Hyeongjian which had been recorded throughout the 17th century at four National Archives which were the National Archive of Jeoksangsan, the National Archive of Odaesan, the National Archive of Taebaeksan, and the National Archive of Jeongjoksan. The results found were summarized as follows.
First, the National Archives which included the longest list of general books among them was the National Archive of Jeongjoksan, as it contained one third of the entire books.
The National Archive of Jeongjoksan contained much more Euigwe (Ritual Protocol Manuals, 儀軌類), Cheonmunsanbeop (Astronomy and Arithmetics, 天文算法類), Individual Collections and etc. than others.
Thus, it was found that the National Archive of Jeongjoksan had special status and functions compared to other National Archives in the Late Joseon Period. There were no significant quantitative differences in collections between the remained three National Archives except the National Archive of Jeongjoksan.
Next, when this study looked at the yearly changes of the volumes of general books included in the Hyeongjian in the 17th century, it was possible to see that it was growing sharply in the first half of the 17th century, and maintained a certain size in the second half of the 17th century.
Through these changes, this study could get a sense of the process of rebuilding of the National Archives in the 17th century which were destroyed by Japanese Invasion (1592) and Manchu Invasion (1636), as the general books included in the Hyeongjian well reflected the situation of the National Archives at the time.
In conclusion, this study hopes that the results of this study would provide in-depth research data to related researchers, and also help discover valuable books by rearranging the list of royal books in the collections of the Gyujanggak Library (Royal Library of the Joseon Dynasty) and the Royal Jangseogak Library.
