정신지체 특수학교 초등학생의 특수교육 기본 교육과정 국어과 읽기, 쓰기 영역의 수행수준 실태 (Investigation over Status of Performance Level of Reading and Writing of Special Education Basic Curriculum for Students in Mental Retardation Special School)

초록

이 연구는 정신지체 특수학교 초등학생의 2011 개정 특수교육 교육과정 국어과 읽기 및 쓰기 영역의 수행수준의 실태를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구목적에 따라 국어과 읽기 및 쓰기 영역의 학년군별 수행수준과 성취기준별 수행수준이 어떠한가를 연구문제로 선정하였다. 이와 같은 연구문제를 해결하기 위해 정신지체 특수학교 7곳의 초등학생 278명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다.
연구결과, 첫째, 정신지체 특수학교 초등학생의 읽기와 쓰기성취기준의 수행수준은 학년군이 올라감에 따라 수행수준이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 읽기와 쓰기 영역의 수행수준을 비교하여 보면, 학년군이 올라감에 따라 쓰기가 읽기보다 낮은 수행수준을 나타냈다. 셋째, 같은 학년군의 중핵요소에 제시된 성취기준 간 수행수준의 차이가 크고, 하나의 중핵요소에 제시된 성취기준 간 수행수준의 차이도 크게 나타났다.
이 연구의 결과를 통해 초등학교 국어과 교육과정 적용이 어려울 수 있을 것으로 예상된다. 아울러 초등학교 보다 어려운 성취기준을 제시하고 있는 중학교와 고등학교, 중도·중복 장애 학생들이 많은 특수학교에서 교육과정의 적용이 어려울 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 현재 특수학교에 재학하고 있는 학생들의 성취수준을 고려한 교육과정 운영방안에 대한 검토가 필요할 것이다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to find out the real state of performance level shown in reading and writing areas in language art of 2011's revised special education curriculum for the students in mentally retarded elementary special school. For this research purpose, the research questions were to investigate propriety of the level of performance according to each grade reading and writing areas in language art and the level of performance shown in each accomplishment standards and implemented the questionnaire survey with 278 elementary school students in 7 special schools for students with mental retardation.
The results of this study were as follows. First, the level of performance of the students in mentally retarded elementary special school at the accomplishment standards in reading and writing areas grew lower as students advance the school. Second, when compared with the level of performance in reading and writing area, the writing level of the performance showed lower than the reading level of the performance as the grade grew higher. Third, looking into the performance level of accomplishment standards in reading and writing areas, the differences in performance level between accomplishment standards in the core element of the same grade group were great, and the differences in performance level were great between the accomplishment standards in the same core elements.
Through the results of this study, it was predicted that the application of language art in 2011's revised special education basic curriculum for the elementary school would have difficulties. As well, the application of curriculum might be difficult in middle and high schools suggesting more difficult standards than the elementary school and for many students with severe and multiple disabilities. Therefore, through any review as to the actual accomplishment standards of the students attending in a special school, qualification alternative for operating curriculum might be necessary.
