초등수학영재의 수학 쓰기에 나타난 특징 분석 (An Analysis on Characteristics of Mathematical Writings of Elementary Mathematics Gifted Students)

초록

본 연구는 초등수학영재의 수학 쓰기에서 만들어진 수학 이야기의 내용을 2가지 관점에서 분석하기 위한 것이다. 먼저 수학적 모델링에는 4가지 영역으로 주제 출처, 상황 맥락, 실제성, 정보 제공에 따라 분석하고, 다음으로 수학 이야기 만들기 관점에서는 완전성, 전달성, 유의미성에 따라 수학 쓰기의 내용을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 수학적 모델링과 수학 이야기 만들기와 관련하여 수학적 의사소통과 관련된 선행연구를 검토하였다. 본 연구의 연구대상은 P대학교 과학영재교육원 초등수학 심화과정 20명 학생이며, 이들을 선발하는 과정에서 진행된 수학·과학 글쓰기 검사의 결과를 분석하였다. 연구결과 수학적 모델링에서는 주제 출처의 각 항목에 따라 상황 맥락의 차이를 보이며, 정보 제공의 수준도 구분되는 것으로 나타났다. 또 수학 이야기 만들기는 전달성이 이야기 수준을 결정하는 요인으로 나타났으며, 완전성 및 유의미성과 상관이 상대적으로 높게 나타났다. 수학영재를 대상으로 한 수학적 의사소통에 대한 연구는 영재의 언어 소양과 수학적 소양을 동시에 볼 수 있는 영역이다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 초등수학영재의 수학 쓰기 또는 수학 이야기 만들기와 관련된 다양한 논의가 진행될 수 있기를 기대한다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the mathematical stories from two perspectives by writing for elementary mathematics gifted students. In mathematical modeling, the contents of mathematical writing was analyzed according to the subject source, context, realism, and information provision as four task characteristics. From the perspective of making a mathematical story, mathematical writings was analyzed according to completeness, communicability, and significance. To this end, we looked at mathematical communication related to mathematical modeling and making a mathematical story. The subjects of this study were 20 students from the Elementary Mathematics Advanced Course at P University's Institute of Science and Gifted Education, and the mathematical writing test conducted during the selection process were analyzed. As a result of the study, in mathematical modeling, it was found that the context differed according to the subject source, and the level of information provision was also distinguished. In mathematical story making, communicability was found to be a determining factor of the level of the story, and the correlation with completeness and significance was found to be relatively high. The study of mathematical communication targeting the elementary gifted students is an area where the linguistic and mathematical literacy can be examined at the same time. Based on these results, it is expected that various discussions related to the making of mathematical stories through writing of elementary mathematics gifted students can be proceeded.
