중소기업의 신제품 지식공유과정이 신제품 성과에 미치는 영향: 팀 안정성의 조절효과를 중심으로 (Effect of Knowledge Sharing Process on New Product Performance in Small-Medium Enterprises: The Moderating Effect of Team Stability)

초록

신제품의 참신함과 의미성은 근본적으로 지식으로부터 발생하고, 이 지식은 기업에게 있어서 가장 가치 있는 자산이 될 수 있으며 신제품 성과에서 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 연구에서는 기존 연구에서 사용된 정적인 의미를 가진 지식을 동적인 측면인 지식공유과정으로 정의하여, 신제품 개발프로세스에서의 지식공유과정을 크게 세 가지로 나누어 그 용어를 재정립하였다. 그리고 신제품 지식들을 공유하고 전달하는 주체인 신제품 개발팀에 집중하여 개발 과정 중 발생할 수 있는 문제점의 해결방안을 팀 안정성이라고 보았다. 팀의 안정성이라는 변수를 가지고 지식공유과정의 유형과 신제품 성과와의 관계에서 조절효과를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 지식공유과정의 융합성과 지식공유과정의 유사성은 신제품 성과에 긍정적인 변수로 작용하는 반면, 지식공유과정의 암묵성은 유의한 결과를 도출하지 못하였다. 또한 팀의 안정성이 신제품 성과에 직접적으로 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 파악했다. 지식공유과정의 유형과 신제품 성과 간 관계에서 팀 안정성의 조절효과는 지식공유과정의 융합성과 지식공유과정의 암묵성에서 유의미한 결과가 확인되었다. 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 중소기업의 신제품 성과를 높이기 위한 신제품 개발팀과 지식공유과정에 대한 전략적 시사점을 논의하였다.

영어초록

Any novel and meaningful idea of a new product basically originates from knowledge, which plays an important role in the performance of new products because it is the most valuable asset for a business entity. In this study, the authors consider the knowledge sharing process as a dynamic aspect based on the term “knowledge,” carrying a static meaning as used in the existing research. The nature of the knowledge sharing process pertaining to new product development has been largely divided into three terms and then re-established. The authors focus on a new product development team as the subject of sharing and providing knowledge on new products, and regards the solution to problems that may arise in the development process as the stability of the team. The moderating effect was examined by the relationship between the type of knowledge sharing process and the outcome of the new product with the variable of team stability.
The results indicate that the convergence and similarity of the knowledge sharing process affect new product performance as positive variables, whereas the tacitness of the knowledge sharing process does not lead to a significant result in terms of performance of new products. This study also shows that the stability of the team has a positively direct effect on the outcome of the new product. The moderating effect of team stability between the type of knowledge sharing process and new product performance is described in the convergence and tacitness of the knowledge sharing process. Based on the results of the research, we discuss the strategic implications of the knowledge sharing process with the new product development team to enhance the new product performance of small-medium enterprises.
