백석 시에 나타난 氣의 양상과 의미 (The aspect and meaning of vital energy in Baekseok poetry)

초록

본 연구는 백석 시에 나타나는 氣의 양상과 그 의미를 살피는 것에 목적을 두었다.
백석 시에서 인지의 충격을 불러오고 있는 창작방법은 그의 시에 출현하는 기의 생성 원인이 되고 있다. 백석 시가 갖는 특징은 낯선 소재를 불러와 새로움을 창조하고 있다는 점이다. 백석은 사투리를 활용하여 토속성에 중점을 두었고 고향의 풍속을 통해 공동체 의식을 강조한다. 또한 그의 시에서 시적 화자는 자신을 대상으로 한 자기 성찰을 통해 자기발견에 이르고 있다. 이 같은 시에서 발현되는 기의 유형은 각각 精氣, 和氣, 剛氣로 드러난다. 여기에는 있어야 하는 현실에 대한 바람과 있는 현실에 대한 극복의 자세가 깃들어 있었다.
먼저, 精氣는 사물의 순수한 기운으로 원초적인 생명력을 말한다. 정기를 내포한 시는 생명의 원천이 되는 元氣를 특히 중요시한다. 원기는 마음과 몸의 활동력이 되는 힘으로 활기, 활력을 말한다. 자연친화적인 시는 주로 이 정기를 담고 드러내는 것에 집중하고 있다. 정기를 발산하고 있는 시에 담고 있는 있어야 하는 현실은 자연성이 살아 숨 쉬는 탈근대 세계이다. 이러한 시에서 백석이 간접적인 방식으로 부정하며 극복하고 있는 현실은 야성이 파괴되는 근대화의 세계이다.
다음으로, 和氣는 따스하고 화목한 분위기를 띄는 것으로 따뜻한 기운을 의미하는 온기와 상통한다. 시의 어조가 완곡하고 정취를 드러내는 시에서 그 특징을 살필 수 있었다. 화기에는 성숙한 품격과 포용력 있는 태도가 깃들어 있기 때문이다. 화기가 발현되고 있는 백석의 시에서 있어야 하는 현실은 인간적인 교류와 정이 넘치는 공동체사회이다. 이는 합리적이고 이성적인 사고로 무장한 서구문명의 이입이 가속화되고 있는 근대 현실에 대한 부정에서 비롯된 것으로 볼 수 있다.
마지막으로, 剛氣는 굳세고 꿋꿋한 기상을 말한다. 시에서 강기는 현실의 어려움을 극복하고자 하는 시인의 의지가 깃들어 있다. 백석의 시에서 강기는 쓸쓸한 정서로 나타나며 자기 성찰에 이르고 있다. 백석 시의 강기가 쓸쓸한 정서로 표현되고 있는 것은 관조의 측면에서 조정과정을 거친 시정신의 연마를 통과하고 있기 때문이다. 강기를 엿볼 수 있는 백석의 시에서 지향하는 세계는 주체적인 삶이며 미래지향적인 삶이다. 이는 있는 현실인 압박의 시대 암흑의 시대에 대한 저항과 극복의 자세에서 형성된 것이다.
이상과 같이 백석에게 精氣, 和氣 剛氣는 그의 시를 낳게 하는 근원으로 자리하며 작품을 담는 작가의 그릇이 되고 있다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the aspect of vital energy and its meaning in Baekseok poetry.
The method of creating the impact of cognition in Baekseok poetry is the cause of the emergence of poems in his poems. Baekseok's characteristic is that it creates new things by calling unfamiliar materials. Baekseok emphasizes community awareness through the use of dialects and the habits of his hometown. In his poetry, the poetic speaker reaches self-discovery through self-reflection on himself. The types of periods that are expressed in these poems are expressed as soul energy, polite energy, firm energy respectively. Here, there was a desire for reality that needs to be, and an attitude of overcoming reality.
First, soul energy refers to the primordial vitality by the pure energy of things. A poem that contains a period is especially important for a source of life. The energetic power is the energy that activates the mind and the body. Nature-friendly poetry focuses primarily on presenting this period. The reality that must be contained in the poetry that soul energy is the postmodern world in which the nature lives. In this poem, Baekseok is negated in the indirect way and overcoming reality is the world of modernization where the wildness is destroyed.
Next, polite energy is a warm and harmonious atmosphere and it is connected with warmth, which means warm energy. The characteristic of the poem was evident in a poem that euphemistically expresses its mood. Because polite energy have mature dignity and tolerance. The reality that there must be in Baekseok poet where polite energy is appearing is a community society full of human exchanges and fullness. This can be seen as a result of the denial of modern reality, which is accelerating the introduction of Western civilization armed with rational and rational thinking.
Finally, firm energy is a strong and stable energy. Firm energy in poetry has a poet 's will to overcome the difficulties of reality. In Baekseok's poetry, firm energy appears as a lonely emotion and leads to self-reflection. The reason why Baekseok poetry is expressed as a lonely emotion is that it passes through the polishing of the municipal god who has undergone the adjustment process in terms of contemplation. In Baekseok's poetry, which can be seen glimpse of firm energy, the world is subjective life and future-oriented life. It is formed from the attitude of overcoming and opposition to the era of darkness in the era of the pressing reality.
As mentioned above, soul energy, polite energy, firm energy for Baekseok are the source of his poetry and become the vessel of the artist who holds the works.
