    초록

    The purpose of this study is to contemplate the meaning of the space-time image shown in Flower (2) by Kim Su-Young by scrutinizing it with cognitive semiolotic method. His poems are the sustainable texts read and studied beyond the age and generation due to its unique poetical spirit. Scrutinizing it by determining as single text will become the foundation in exploring the clue of poetical spirit. The reason why Flower (2) the middle stage poem of Kim Su-Young, was selected as text is because it is more useful to explore the root of his poetic spirit, which recognized the being beyond the abstruse expression uniquely.
    The specific method in to examine the process of generating the meaning by symbolizing the image of space-time represented in the text into image schema and by contemplating it cognitively. The contemplation process is to reveal the cognitive system made with cognitive sign, cognitive structure and cognitive orientation. The liguistic cognitive sign that composes the text is represented by being dualized into semanteme of silence and dynamic. It was intended to confirm that the blooming of flower, which symbolizes the general being by securing the dynamic with the fusion of liguistic cognitive signs, is embodied effectively by the semantic structure of peom's text.
    The cognitive structure of Flower (2) is revealed by the progression and retrogression of the space-time. The blooming of a flower, which was identified by the cognitive subject, is based on the cognitive psychology that it blooms toward the past. The cognitive subject recognized the image that the phenomenon and the process, which a flower blooms, are repeated continuously as a structire that the space-time is moved. Therefore, it is considered that 'a flower is connected with the past, present and future. This pattern means that the cognition of the being expressed as 'flower' continues permanently in the linar image of progression and retrogression of the space-time.
    The image schema that reveals the cognitive orientation in the text is embodied into the image that the past, present and future are connected and superposed.
    The image schema that the permanency of the space-time showed the image that the petals are superposed. This cognitive orientation shows an aspect of the metaphysical thinking underlying in the image of space time appeared in the poetic spirit of Kim Su-Young. The cognitive subject recognize the general being symbolized with 'flower' in the instant and permanent image of space time composed by connection and superposition of space time that passes through the past and the future.
