김지하 시 세계의 비극성과 정화의식 (Kim Jiha Poem’s Tragedy and Purification Consciousness)

초록

김지하(1941~)는 70, 80년대 현대시문학사의 저항문학을 대표하는 시인으로 정치적 이데올로기가 지배하는 폭압적 세계에 영향을 받아왔다. 김지하 문학에 대한 평가는 다양한 측면에서 방대하게 이루어졌으며, 학문후속세대에서도 연구가 지속되고 있다. 이러한 연구는 생명사상을 중심으로 이루어지고 있는데, 김지하 문학의 생명사상은 근대현대사의 생명성에 대한 인식으로부터 생겨난 것이라고 할 수 있다.
생명사상으로 수렴될 수 있는 김지하 문학의 주요한 부분으로 반생명적인 죽음의식과 생명 신성성의 회복을 들 수 있다. 김지하 문학 연구 역시 이러한 부분에 주목하고 있으며 시 세계의 근원에는 역사적인 비극성과 함께 폭력성이 내재되어 있다는 것이다. 김지하 문학에 대한 선행연구는 ‘생명성’이라는 키워드를 중심으로 혼돈과 부재라는 시대적 상황 속에서 구가되는 생명주의, 민중의식, 동학사상, 살림운동 등의 담론으로 귀결된다는 점이다. 그런데 이러한 측면을 제외하고 그의 시를 파악하면 김지하 문학을 가능케 했던 세계관과 시 의식이 폭력적인 현실로부터 비극성으로 시작되고 연민과 공포를 동반한 카타르시스와 통하고 있다는 것에 주목할 필요가 있다.
본고는 김지하 시의 종착지를 정화 의미로서 파악했으며 나아가 비극성을 방어하고 시대적 폭력을 극복하고 있는 것으로 분석했다. 이와 관련하여 그의 시편에 많이 등장하는 “태워 불타게 하다”라는 ‘연소적인 이미지’를 통해 정화 기능을 수행하고 있다는 것이다.
김지하 시편에 나타난 문학적 비극성과 시적 폭력성의 정화 양상을 세 가지로 세분화시켜 분석했다. 본고에서 살핀 연구방법은 그동안 선행연구에서 그에 대한 탐구를 구체화시킨 생명사상, 생태의식, 민중정신을 통해 전수되고 있는 정화의 양상으로서 부활과 영원, 죽음과 순환, 애도와 재현이다. 또한 공통적으로 탐구한 시편에서 ‘타다’라는 연소 의미는 정화 현상으로 촉발되는데, 거기에는 연민과 공포라는 카타르시스가 발생되고 있다는 것이다. 이에 김지하의 시편을 생명에 관한 부활의 영원성, 생태의식에 따른 죽음의 순환성, 민중정신에 의한 애도의 재현성 등으로 파악하면서 시적 의미를 탐구했다.

영어초록

Kim Jiha(1941~) has focused on the violent world of political ideology as a resistance literature that represents the history of modern poetry literature in the 1970s and 1980s. The reputation of Kim Jiha Literature has been extensively explored under the theme of the Kim Jiha, demonstrating his vigorous activity, and will continue to be addressed in the follow-up generation of the survey. In this way, much research on Kim Jiha literature, which is represented by resistance literature, is based on life thought, but it can be derived from the perception of the vitality of modern Korean poetry.
On the other hand, the start of the Kim Jiha and the pursuit of researchers who can converge with life thoughts include the awareness of half-life death and the restoration of life sacredness. In addition, if we deepen these two dimensions, we can note that the origins of Kim Jiha literature include historical tragedy and violence. In this way, in the era of chaos and absence centered on the keyword "vitality", prior research has been concluded with discourses on the spoken words of lifeism, ethnic consciousness, eastern thought, and living movement. However, after removing this, his poetry possible worldview and poetic awareness began with violent reality and ended with tragedy.
Next, Kim Jiha poetry as a meaning of purification by preserving tragedy and overcoming the violence of the times, and paying attention to the image of "burning" that appears on his test specimens "burns on" did. It is a fact that this burning action exerts a cathartic effect that causes compassion and fear in advance while performing a purifying function. Therefore, this article focuses on test specimens based on burning images and purifying effects in sympathy and fear in order to expel the tragedy and violent purifying rituals exhibited during the Kim Jiha’s poet.
The purification surface of literary, tragedy and poetic violence that appeared on the Kim Jiha piece was subdivided into three parts and analyzed. In this paper, the method of this research is based on the previous research that has been pursued, and the rebirth and eternity of death and circulation that is, crying and rebirth.
In addition, in general, the meaning of "burn" burning is displayed inspired by the purification association in the specimens searched for, and there is a catharsis of sympathy and fear. It first disclosed the eternal revival of life, the second, the cycle of death through ecological consciousness, and the third, poetic meaning through the recreation of crying by the spirit.
