강태열의 문학적 생애와 시세계 (The Literary Life of Tae-yeol Kang and Sentiment for His Poetry)

초록

시인 강태열은 1960년에 등단한 강태열은 등단 40주년이 되어서야 2권의 시집을 냈다. 때문에 여타의 시인처럼 평단의 평가도, 연구의 대상도 되지 못했다. 따라서시인 강태열의 삶과 문학적 활동을 통해 문학적 생애와 시세계를 밝혀보고자 하였다.
광주서중학교 시절부터 문학적 열망을 품었던 강태열은 광주고등학교에 진학한후 본격적인 문학수업을 시작하였다. 문예부 활동과 함께 박봉우, 윤삼하, 주명영과함께 『상록집』을 냈고, 대학에 입학하여서는 시동인지 『영도』로 새로운 시운동을 전개하였다. 강태열의 대학 납부금으로 발간한 시동인지 『영도』는 신춘문예와 문예지추천을 거부한 독자적인 시운동으로 반공이데올로기와 국가재건에 천착했던 1950년대 문단의 주된 흐름 속에서 특별한 위치를 갖게 되었다. 그리고 1960년 『사상계』로 등단함으로써 날카로운 언어로 시대를 관통하는 시인이 되었다.
그는 박정희정권의 감시 속에서도 1974년 유신헌법 개헌 문학인 61명 선언을주도해 중앙정보부에 연행되어 조사를 받았는가 하면, 자유실천문인협의회 결성에 참여하면서 유신정권을 반대하는 투쟁 과정에서 투옥되는 고초를 겪기도 하였다. 그 시기에는 주로 「공본주의시」, 「패주기」 연작 등으로 유신정권의 독재와 탄압을 되돌려주는 저항적인 시를 썼다. 그런 한편으로 따뜻한 인간애로 천상병, 박봉우 등의 어려운 시인들을 돌보았다. 독재정권과 끊임없이 대결구도를 형성했던저항적인 시세계는 후기에 이르러서 구도적인 시세계로 변모하였다. 시대와 불화를 승화시켜 독특한 시세계를 구축해 나간 시인 강태열, 시세계를 규명하는 본격적인 연구는 추후의 과제로 남긴다.

영어초록

The poet, Tae-yeol Kang, was admired and his literary careerwas tracked down. The poet, Tae-yeol Kang, had not published abook of poems since he began his career in 1960. Although he didnot write the books until 2000, it published two volumes of poetryin 2000 when it was the 40th anniversary of its debut. As he didnot write the books regularly like any other poets, he was notregarded as an assessment of teams or organization and subjects tostudy. Therefore, the study means especially that it is first writingfor tracing his life and literary activities of the poet, Tae-yeolKang. He had a literary aspiration after he was a student in middleschool in Gwangju. After entering to Gwangju High School, heparticipated in his literature class thoughtfully. With the literaryclub's activities, he published "Sang-Nok" with Park Bong-woo,Yoon Sam-ha and Joo Myung-young.
After entering college, he started a new poem movement with aliteral coterie magazine, called 'Yeong-do.' The literal coteriemagazine, "Yeongdo", published by his college payment was anindependent movement refusing to recommend to Shinchun-Munyeand the book, Munye. Yeongdo took a special position amid theideology of anti-communists concerning the Korean War in 1950and the main trend of literary circles in the 1950s that began rebuilding the nation. With entering literary circles, "Sa-Sang-Gye",in 1960, he wrote the poets who penetrate the times through sharplanguage. He wrote consistent works amid the dictatorship andsurveillance of the administration of Chung-hee Park. In 1974, he led thedeclaration by 61 members for a literature of a constitutional amendmentrelated to the Yushin Constitution.
Thus, he took the central intelligence agency for questioning. Byestablishing and participating in the Council of the Liberal Practiceand the Literary Men, he began to fight against the Yushin regime.
He went through hardships with other poets, Ko Eun and ChoTae-il. He formed the rebellious poem to return to them thedictatorship and oppression of the Yushin regime through a seriesof poems, "Communism" and "The Crucible". Meanwhile, he tookcare of poor poets such as Chun Sang-byeong and Park Bong-woowith warm humanity. Later, the rebellious poems formed acontinuous confrontation against the dictatorship turned intoold-fashioned poems. With unique poems, I hope that it could be aprior study of the full-fledged research to identify the poems ofTae-yeol Kang who sublimated the times and feuds.
