통합형 숲유치원의 교육활동에 관한 참여관찰연구 (A Study Based on Participant Observation about Educational Activity of Integrated Forest Kindergarten)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 도입단계에 있는 숲유치원의 정체성 확립과 활성화를 위해 우리나라 실정에맞는 숲유치원의 발전방향을 모색하는데 있다. 이를 위해 순수 숲유치원과 다른 방식으로 운영되는 통합형 숲유치원의 교육활동을 참여관찰 하였는데 그 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 융통성 있게하루 일과를 운영하고 있다. 둘째, 교육활동은 자연의 변화를 따르며 세시풍속을 반영한다. 셋째,교육방법은 체험을 통한 통합적인 배움과 창의적 표현활동으로 이루어진다. 넷째, 교구와 놀이도구는 자연에서 가져온다. 다섯째, 열정 있는 교사는 아이들과 함께 성장한다. 이와 같은 통합형숲유치원의 교육활동은 ① 순수 숲유치원이 아니어도 주변의 환경을 적극적으로 활용하여 자연을 직접 체험하는 놀이와 활동이 가능하다. ② 생활영역을 통합한 다양한 체험과 표현활동을 돕는 놀이 및 활동프로그램이 연구되어야 한다. ③ 아이들의 감성과 상상력, 창의력을 신장할 수있도록 자연의 산물을 교실로 가져와 활용할 수 있는 방법을 모색해야 한다. ④ 숲유치원 교육에필요한 소양과 태도를 갖춘 교사양성과 계속교육이 중요하다는 점을 시사하고 있다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to explore a form of forest kindergarten fit to our country's situation for establishment of identity and activation of forest kindergarten in the stage of introduction. To do this, participant observation was carried out about educational activity of integrated forest kindergarten which is operated in different way from pure forest kindergarten. The study results are as follows.
First, children go out to surrounding forest, park, or field to play in the nature everyday. Second,through various experiences and creative expression activity integrating life category, children understand nature and shape their own life. Third, Play and activity of children was made centered on change of nature according to circulation of season. The meanings of collection of Korean folk customs were investigated.
Fourth, Children brought products of nature to classroom and utilized them as a educational tool or play tool. This makes them remember experiences in the forest and foster creativity and imagination. Fifth, The most important driving force is firm belief and passion of a director and teachers of kindergarten about value and effects of forest kindergarten education. Such educational activity of integrated type forest kindergarten is: ① Although kindergarten is not pure forest kindergarten, play and activity of directly experiencing nature is possible by properly using surrounding environment. ② Play and activity programs which help various experiences and expression activity integrating life category should be studied. ③ it is necessary to help foster emotion, imagination, and creativity of children by seeking methods to bring products of nature to classroom. ④ This educational activity implies that it is important to foster teachers with refinement and attitude necessary for forest kindergarten education with continuous training for them.
