김지하 시편의 '성과 속' 의식 (Kim Jiha Psalm’s ‘The Adult and The Inner’ Consciousness)

초록

본고는 한국현대문학사에서 민주화 운동과 민중사상의 선구자 김지하(1941~) 시편의 성(聖)과 속(俗)을 탐구했다. 여기서 주목할 것은 김지하 시편이 근원적으로 성과 속을 내재하고 있으며 종교적인 의미를 가진다는 것이다. 종교적인 의미란 시적 주체가 경험한 ‘종교현상학(Phenomenology of Religion)’으로 세속적 세계에서 성스러움을 드러내는 ‘현상학적 언어’라는 점이다. 이처럼 현상학적으로 김지하의 언어는 실존적 세계에서 시인의 체험과 직관이 시로 교환된 방식을 취하며 ‘성과 속’에 대한 ‘언어적 환원’으로 독해할 수 있다. 살펴본 그의 시편은 성스러움과 세속적인 것이 통합적이고, 대립적으로 나타나는데, 성스러움에서 세속적인 것으로 혹은 세속적인 것에서 성스러운 것으로 일원화되어 출현하기도 하지만 성과 속이 분화되어 이원화되어 현출하기도 한다.
그의 시편의 토대가 되는 70~80년대는 억압과 착취 그리고 혼돈의 시대라는 속된 것 속에서 성화된 언어로 발휘되고 있다는 사실을 엘리아데의 『종교형태론』과『성과 속』을 통해 밝혀보았다. 이른바 김지하는 당대 유신군사독재와 재벌, 지배특권층 등에 관한 사회현실 비판의식과 민족ㆍ민중ㆍ민주에 관한 역사적ㆍ시대적 담론을 ‘전위적 문예미학’으로 창작해왔다. 김지하에 대한 논의로는 크게 생명ㆍ환경ㆍ자연 등이 그의 시편에 집중적으로 삼투되어 변주 되어 있는바, 공통적인 세 가지 의식적 견해로 생명과 생태학ㆍ민족과 민중의식ㆍ종교성과 동학사상 등을 들 수 있다.
생명사상을 중심으로 한 김지하에 대한 연구들은 당대를 타파해가는 시적 담론으로 파악하고 현실세계를 극복하고 있다는 것이 중론이다. 그의 시는 역사와 민족, 시대와 민중 의식을 견인하는데, 삶과 죽음 의식은 모순과 역설 속에서 공존과 연대를 통해 재생되면서 부활한다. 그것은 김지하의 생명의식이 시세계 전반에 투영되어 있다는 것에서 논지를 확장시킨 것이 생태학적 상상력으로서 종교적 측면인, 동학사상과 합일된다는 것에 있다. 또한 생명주의적 시는 생명과 생태 문제를 풍자적으로 고발하고 비판하는 소재적인 차원을 넘어서 대립과 반목 속에서 연대하는 영속성을 보인다.
이처럼 그의 시가 70, 80년대 ‘민족ㆍ민중ㆍ민주’라는 시대적 담론에서 ‘생명ㆍ환경ㆍ자연’이라는 생태적 문제로 확장되면서 생명주의문학과 민중의식, 종교성과 동학사상 등의 의식으로 지평을 넓힐 수 있었던 것은 궁극적으로 시에서 세속적인 현실에 성스러움의 실재를 드러내고 있다는 것을 밝혔다.

영어초록

This article is about exploring the adult and the inner of Kim Jiha (1941-) psalm, a pioneer of democratization movement and popular thought in the history of contemporary literature in Korea in the 70s and 80s. The focus of this paper is that Kim Jiha psalm is fundamentally inherent the adult and the inner and has a religious meaning. Religious meaning can be regarded as a "phenomenological language" in which the sacred world is exposed to the "Phenomenology of Religion" experienced by the poetic subject. Phenomenologically, the language of Kim Jiha can be read as ‘verbal reduction’ of ‘the adult and the inner’ in a way that the experience and intuition of a poet are exchanged in poem in the existential world. The psalm to be examined shows that sacred and secular things are integrated and appear in conflict. It means that the sacred and secular things, or the secular things, appear as a sacred thing in a unified way, and the results do not differentiate and appear in a dualized manner.
Displayed in his psalm In short, if you grasp the age of oppression, exploitation and chaos of the 70's and 80's as vulgar, the historical recognition that Kim Jiha was eager for was in the language blamed with his piece. I would like to clarify the fact that it is being demonstrated by using the "religious form" and "the adult and the inner" of Eliade. Kim Jiha has presented a critical consciousness of the realities of society regarding the modern Yushin military dictatorship, the chaebol, and the privileged class to the "avant-garde literary aesthetics" and historical discourse about people and democracy. There is a lot of debate about it, where life, environment, nature, etc. are intensively infiltrated and changed in his psalm, and from the viewpoint of three general consciousness, life and ecology, ethnicity and people's consciousness, religious eastern thought can be mentioned.
Most of the views of Kim Jiha’s research centered on life thought are overcoming the real world by grasping the poetic discourse that breaks through the 70s and 80s. His poetry drives the people's consciousness of history, people, and times, but the rituals of life and death are revived and revived through coexistence and solidarity in contradiction and paradox. The fact that Kim Jiha's consciousness of life is projected on the poem world as a whole is expressed as an ecological imagination, which is united with the eastern thought from the religious side. In the so-called poem of Kim Jiha life-ism, it shows the permanence of solidarity in confrontation and confrontation beyond the material dimension of criticizing and criticizing life and environmental problems.
Thus, in his poetry of the 70's and 80's, he was extended to the ecological problem of “life, environment, nature” in the era discourse of “ethnicity, people, democracy”, and he wrote life attention literature, people's consciousness, and religious achievements. The reason why he was able to expand the horizon to such consciousness is that the secular reality of the city finally represents the existence of sacredness. In essence, the root of his poetry, which is essentially expanded to religious ceremonies, is that the "experience of sacredness" in religious studies is carried in a “symbolic language.”
