소가야지역 출토 마구의 특징과 전개 (The Development and Different from Technique of Trappings in Sogaya)

초록

기존에 알려진 소가야의 영역설정 대부분은 토기양식을 먼저 설정하고 그 양식의 분포상태에 주목하여 시기적인 변천에 따라 고성 및 주변지역에 대한 연맹체의 범위를 추정하는 수순을 밟고 있다. 토기의 분포권 혹은 문화권을 정치적 영역권으로 해석하고 있다.
본고에서는 소가야지역을 규명하고자 공간적으로는 문헌을 비롯하여 공통적으로 대두되는 고성지역을 주목하였다. 시기적으로는 송학동고분군과 내산리고분군이 출현ㆍ존속하는 5세기 후반부터 6세기 중반대를 대상으로 하였으며 기존의 연구 성과를 바탕으로 이를 다시 세분하여 3단계로 설정하였다. 이 때 각 단계에 따른 출토마구의 변천과 분포를 파악한 결과, 먼저 1단계는 5세기 후반으로 송학동고분군을 중심으로 한다. 마구는 안장, 재갈, 행엽 등에서 철지금속장(鐵地金屬板張)의 구조가 주류를 이루며 김해, 창원, 함안, 고령 등의 지역과 함께 일본의 긴키(近畿)지역과의 관계를 추정할 수 있다. 2단계는 6세기 전반으로 송학동과 함께 내산리고분군이 병행한다. 마구는 대체로 철제가 대부분이며 경주, 고령, 합천, 창원 등 넓은 범위의 지역 및 묘제 등에서는 북부구주지역 등과의 교류를 상정할 수 있다. 3단계는 6세기 중반에 해당되며 전단계의 연속이라고 할 수 있다. 마구 역시 경주와 합천 등의 지역과 관련성이 깊으며 소가야적인 요소들도 확인되고 있다.

영어초록

To determine the territorial coverage of Sogaya, so far, the types and geographical distribution of excavated earthenware were observed and identified. Accordingly, it has been estimated that Sogaya was situated in Goseong region around which there were some other nations of the Gaya confederacy. Regions where earthenware of Sogaya were widely distributed or culturally accepted have been considered as politically influenced by the ancient country.
The purpose of this study is to examine Sogaya, especially paying more attention to Goseong that has been commonly considered by literatures as where the ancient kingdom was located. In terms of the times, the study focused on the period between the late 5th and the mid 6th centuries when both the Songhak-dong and the Naesan-ri ancient tombs were first formed and then maintained. Then the researcher divided that period into three stages by considering pervious researches. In examining the changes and distribution of excavated harness according to the stages, this study first focused on the Songhak-dong ancient tombs as where the harness of the first stage were concentrated. The harness items of that stage such as saddles, bits and hangyeop were usually iron-based and metal-clad, or having the structure of cheolji geumsokjang. This suggests that those items were associated with Kimhae, Changwon, Haman and Goryung regions and even with Kinki region in Japan. Harness of the 2nd stage were excavated from not only the Songhak-dong ancient tombs, but also the Naesan-ri ones. Harness items of that 2nd stage were mostly made of iron. Those which were discovered in larger regions like Gyeongju, Goryeong, Hapcheon and Changwon or excavated from the tombs suggest there were exchanges with Kitakushu region in Japan. The 3rd stage, falling to the mid 6th century, was not so different from the previous stage. Harness made in the third stage were closely related with regions like Gyeongju and Hapcheon, but some of them had features representing Sogaya..
