초록

이 논문에서는 제수가 분수인 나눗셈에서 단위비율 결정 맥락의 도입에 대한 논란을 다음과 같이 여섯 가지로 나누어 제시하고, 이러한 논란이 수학교육 연구와 실천에 요청하는 바를 논하였다.
・단위비율 결정 맥락은 분수의 나눗셈 단원보다 비례 단원에서 다루기 적합한 내용이라는 논란.
・학생들이 단위비율 결정 맥락을 나눗셈 문제로 보지 못한다는 논란.
・포함제 맥락과 단위비율 결정 맥락에서 서로 다른 알고리즘을 다루고 끝나는 것에 관한 논란.
・분수의 나눗셈 알고리즘 유도 과정과 실생활 상황의 연결에 관한 논란.
・나누고 곱하는 두 단계를 제수의 역수를 곱하는 한 단계로 압축하는 과정에 관한 논란.
・이중 척도 모델 사용에 관한 논란.
각각의 논란이 수학교육 연구와 실천에 요청하는 바는 다르지만, 그 모두는 전체로 단위비율 결정 맥락의 도입을 요소의 도입이 아닌 구조의 도입으로 볼 것을 시사한다.

영어초록

The context of determination of a unit rate has recently been introduced into learning and teaching of algorithms for division by fractions in Korea. In this paper the issues caused by the introduction are categorized as follows and the tasks that each issue imposes on research and practice in mathematics education are discussed.
First, the issue that which place is better to deal with the context of determination of a unit rate out of the unit of proportion and the unit of division by fractions.
Second, the issue that students do not see the context of determination of a unit rate as a division problem.
Third, the issue of ending up with different algorithms in different contexts, such as the common denominator algorithm in measurement division and the invert and multiply algorithm in the context of determination of a unit rate.
Fourth, the issue of how to connect the algorithms for division by fractions to real-life situations.
Fifth, the issue of how to compress the two-step problem solving process in the context of determination of a unit rate into the invert and multiply algorithm.
Sixth, the issue of using double scale models such as double number lines in division by fractions.
The tasks that each issue imposes on research and practice in mathematics education are different. However, they all suggest that introducing the context of determination of a unit rate into division by fractions should be viewed as introducing a structure in which many elements are complexly connected.
