유튜브 채널 유형에 따른 섬 지역 관광 및 홍보 콘텐츠 특성과 시청자 반응 비교분석 - 울릉도, 통영, 여수, 제주도를 중심으로 (The Exploratory Analysis of Local Island Tourism and Promotional Contents Characteristics and Viewers Response According to YouTube Channel Types –Focused on Ulleungdo, Tongyeong, Yeosu, and Jeju Isla)

초록

본 연구는 지자체 유튜브 채널과 일반인 브이로그 유튜버와 비교하여 섬 지역관광홍보 콘텐츠 특성과 시청자 반응을 비교분석하였다. 실효성 있는 관광홍보 콘텐츠 제작을 위한 콘텐츠 특성 차이와 시청자 반응 차이의 분석이 필요하다고 보았다. 대한민국 5대 섬, 울릉도, 통영 소매물도, 여수 손죽도, 제주도, 보령시 호도 중 본 연구에 활용된 유튜버 ‘우니의끼니’와 ‘감자매’가 실제 방문하고 브이로그 콘텐츠가 제작된 울릉도, 통영, 여수, 제주도 4곳으로 선정하여 해당 지자체 유튜브 채널의 관광홍보 콘텐츠와 비교분석하였다. 각 유튜브 채널의 구독자수와 각 콘텐츠의 조회수, 댓글수, 콘텐츠 특성, 댓글반응으로 탐색적 분석을 하였다. 분석결과, 관광 브이로그 콘텐츠에서 ‘유희성’, ‘정보성’, ‘생생함’, ‘소통성’을 나타냈고, ‘공감’, ‘대리만족’, ‘추천의도’, ‘방문의도’의 시청자 반응을 확인하였다. 해당 지자체 유튜브 채널의 관광홍보 콘텐츠에서 ‘영상미’와 낮은 ‘정보성’을 나타냈고, 부분적으로 ‘대리만족’, ‘추천의도’, ‘방문의도’로 낮은 시청자 반응을 확인하였다. 본 연구를 통해 콘텐츠 특성을 고루 갖춘 일반인 브이로그 콘텐츠와 비교하여 다른 콘텐츠 특성을 고려하지 못한 지자체의 관광홍보 콘텐츠 문제점을 확인하였다. 연구결과를 통해 향후 연구에 활용할 수 있는 자료로서 발판을 마련하고, 지자체 유튜브 채널의 운영 성과가 다양하게 나타나고 있는 상황에서 향후 지자체 유튜브 채널의 섬 지역관광홍보 콘텐츠 제작의 실효성을 높이고 효과적인 콘텐츠 가공에 도움이 되고자 한다.

영어초록

This study aims to compare and analyze the characteristics of local island tourism promotion content and viewer responses by comparing local government YouTube channels and ordinary vlog YouTubers. When local government YouTube operation results show up in various ways, analyzing difference in content characteristics and viewer response was necessary to produce practical tourism promotion content. Among the five major islands in Korea; Ulleungdo, Somaemuldo Island in Tongyeong, Sonjukdo Island in Yeosu, Jeju Island, and Hodo Island in Boryeong, Ulleungdo, Tongyeong, Yeosu and Jeju Island were selected as 4 places where the vlog YouTubers visited and vlog contents were created, and compared and analyzed the tourism promotion contents of the local government YouTube channels. An exploratory analysis was conducted on the number of subscribers of each YouTube channel, the number of views, the number of comments, content characteristics, and responses to each content. As a result of the analysis, tourism vlog contents showed ‘entertainment’, ‘information’, ‘vividity’, and ‘interaction’. The viewers responses were confirmed with ‘empathy’, ‘surrogate satisfaction’, ‘recommendation intention’, and ‘visit intention’. The tourism promotion contents of the local government YouTube channels showed ‘appearance’ and low ‘information’, and partially confirmed the low viewer responses with ‘surrogate satisfaction’, ‘recommendation intention’, and ‘visit intention’. Through this study, compared to vlog content for the general public, which has all the characteristics of the contents, it was confirmed that the problem of the tourism promotion content of the local government should have considered the other characteristics of the content. This study provides academic implications as data that can be used for future research and the effectiveness of local tourism promotion content production. This study helps to increase the effectiveness of local island tourism promotion content production for local government YouTube channels and improve ineffective content processing.
