도서(섬) 지역에서 치유농업 가능성 탐색: 사례연구를 기반으로 (The Research to Explore the Potential of Healing Agriculture in Korea Island Areas: Based on Case Studies)

초록

이 연구에서는 농업의 자원이라고 할 수 있는 식물과 동물을 매개로 자신의 건강을 증진하는 활동으로 치유농업에 대하여 고찰하고자 한다. 이것은 지역의 활력이 미래의 가치로써 건강 기반 행복을 지탱할 수 있기 때문이다. 이 연구에서 대상지역으로 선정한 지역은 우리나라 섬 지역과 육지 지역에 해당된다. 이것은 섬 지역이 바다의 환경과 육지의 환경을 겸비하고 있고 지리적으로 도시 생활권에서 이격되어 있어 섬 지역의 생명체와 환경 그 자체가 치유감을 줄 수 있기 때문이다. 앞으로 치유농업과 해양치유의 가능성을 겸비한 섬 지역에 대한 치유농업 적용 가능성을 탐색하는 것은 의미있는 연구가 된다.
이 연구는 도시에서 삶과 과밀화로 인하여 자연을 희구하고자 하는 현대인의 자연환경 친화적인 수요에 대응하기 위하여 치유농업의 효과에 대하여 연구한 것이다. 이 연구에서 실제로 여러 사례를 조사하여 치유 대상자가 치유프로그램의 중재 이전과 이후의 신체적, 인지적, 심리적, 사회적, 행동적 효과를 과학적으로, 통계적으로 차이와 효과를 식별하였다. 치유프로그램의 참여 이전과 이후의 차이는 명확하게 나타났다. 그 결과는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다.
첫째, 치유 프로그램에 참여한 치유 대상자는 우울, 스트레스, 코르티졸 등은 감소한 결과를 보였다. 이것은 치유대상자에게 치유 프로그램이 유효하게 작용하고 있다는 점을 보여주고 있다. 따라서 이와 같이 치유대상자에게 유효한 치유 프로그램은 심화되거나 확장될 필요가 있다.
둘째, 치유 프로그램에 참여한 치유 대상자는 도파민이 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 이 성분은 쾌감을 지각하게 하는 행복 호르몬으로 알려져 있다. 이와 같은 조사결과에 근거하여 치유 대상자들은 치유 프로그램에 참여함으로써 더 행복해 질 수 있는 가능성을 열어 둔 것이라고 할 수 있다.
셋째, 치유 대상으로서 아동은 치유 프로그램에 참여함으로써 참여 이전에 비교하여 참여 이후 긴장감이 감소하고 인성이 성숙되는 결과를 보였다. 이와 같은 긍정적 치유효과는 이 치유 프로그램이 치유 대상자에게 유효한 결과를 보였다는 점을 확인시켜 주고 있다.
넷째, 치유 대상자로서 특수교육대상자들에게 치유 프로그램을 중재한 결과 친 사회적 행동이 증가하고 돕기행동도 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 치유 프로그램의 중재가 초·중 특수교육대상자에게 유효한 치료 수단이 될 수 있다는 점을 시사하고 있다.
다섯째, 초등학생 치유대상자에게 치유 프로그램을 중재한 결과 사회적 역량이 모두 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 이 사례에서 어린이들은 공감능력, 또래관계, 자기표현 행동 등에서 향상된 모습을 보였다. 그리고 치유대상자들은 프로그램 참여 이후 자기효능감도 향상된 모습을 보였다. 이것은 이 사례의 회기가 주1회에서 총14회기에 걸쳐 치유 중재가 이루어졌다는 점을 상기할 필요가 있다. 약 4개월 걸쳐 이루어진 이 치유 프로그램의 중재는 흥미를 유발시킬 수 있는 치유 프로그램과 자기와 그리고 친구와 이야기할 수 있는 여러 가지 중재가 이루어지고 이것이 효과로 나타난 것으로 보인다.

영어초록

This study studied the effects of healing agriculture to respond to the environmentally friendly demands of modern people who seek nature due to overcrowding and living in the city. The results of this study can be summarized as follows.
First, those who participated in the healing program showed reductions in depression, stress, and cortisol. This shows that the healing program works effectively for the treated person.
Second, the healing subjects who participated in the healing program showed increased dopamine. This ingredient is a happy hormone that causes the perception of pleasure.
Third, by participating in the healing program, children as targets of healing showed decreased tension and improved character after participation compared to before participation. This positive healing effect confirms that this healing program showed effective results for those receiving treatment.
Fourth, as a result of mediating a healing program for special education recipients, pro-social behavior and helping behavior increased. This suggests that the healing program intervention can effectively treat elementary and middle school students in special education.
Fifth, as a result of mediating a healing program for elementary school students, it was found that all social competencies improved. In this case, the children showed improvements in empathy, peer relationships, and self-expressive behavior. Also, those receiving treatment showed improvement in self-efficacy after participating in the program.
If a healing program with a healing effect is applied to the island area, the island, which is an environment where one can escape from daily life and enjoy the margins of life by being located far away from the city center, will be in the spotlight. This makes the island's wind more pleasant to the local air and environment. This can relieve stress and create space for the human brain to rest, which is oppressed by daily life and complex life. The island has an open beach, a colony of plants and trees, and a rock formation with spectacular scenery. If the healing program is applied here, it will be more effective.
It was reported that the healing agriculture program was applied to people receiving treatment and showed effective results. This suggests that healing programs using agriculture and rural areas can be effective healing methods as a means of intervention. Suppose this healing program with healing effects is applied to island areas. In that case, transportation accessibility will improve in the future, yet the island, which is an environment where one can escape from daily life and enjoy the margins of life by being located far from the city center, will be in the spotlight. This is because humans live their daily lives so boringly that their brains cannot rest and there is no space in their lives, however, when they enter an island-like utopia, they lose track of time and become immersed in the time of joy. In this respect, the island can be a valuable resting place that can be said to be healing itself.
