사회적기업의 역량 강화와 성과 창출 과정: GS샵과 아름다운가게의 CSR 협력을 중심으로 (A process on Competency Enhancement and Performance Creation of Social Enterprises: Focusing on CSR collaboration between GS SHOP and Beautiful Store)

초록

본 연구는 대기업과 중간지원조직의 협력을 통해 CSR을 실천하는 과정에서 사회적기업의 역량이 어떻게강화되는지를 분석한 것이다. 최근에 대기업들은 CSR 차원에서 다양한 사업들을 진행하고 있으며 그것이수행 기업의 성과 및 이미지에 미치는 영향에 관한 다수의 연구들이 있다. 하지만 CSR에 참여한 수혜 조직에게 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지에 관한 연구는 찾아보기 어렵다. 본 연구는 지난 10년간 CSR의 일환으로사회적기업들에게 핵심 사업에 참여할 기회를 제공한 홈쇼핑사의 CSR 방송 참여 경험을 분석한다. 연구대상은 CSR 방송에 참여 경험이 있는 사회적기업 6곳과 CSR 사업을 운영한 GS샵과 중간지원조직 역할을한 (재)아름다운가게이다. 연구방법으로 사례연구방법을 사용했다. 분석 결과 사회적기업들은 홈쇼핑 CSR 방송 참여 경험을 통해 비즈니스 역량이 강화되고, 기업의 성과가 향상된다. 사회적기업의 역량 강화 요인으로 대기업과 중간지원조직의 핵심역량의 투입이 주요하다. 중간지원조직은 대기업과 사회적기업에 대한상호 이해를 바탕으로 자원과 기술을 중개하고 사회적기업이 목표를 달성할 수 있도록 전 과정에서 맞춤지원을 수행함으로써 역량 강화와 목적 달성에 기여한다. 본 연구의 시사점으로 사회적기업의 역량을 강화하기 위해서는 대기업의 핵심역량이 보다 적극적으로 투입되어야 하며 이러한 실천을 확대할 필요가 있다.
그리고 영세한 사회적기업이 대기업 유통에 진출하기 위해서는 서로의 차이를 이해하고 사회적기업의 부족한 부분을 보완할 수 있도록 전체 진행 과정에서 맞춤 지원을 하는 중간지원조직의 필요성이 제시되었다.

영어초록

This paper aims to analyze how social enterprises experience competency development within the CSR process of a large company in partnership with an intermediary organization. In recent, large companies are required to perform CSR-related activities and their effects on the performance and image enhancement of the companies are examined by many researchers. However, there are few studies showing what effects on beneficiary organizations of CSR activities are observed. In this study, CSR broadcasting experiences of a company offering home shopping services are examined. As part of CSR, the company has been providing social enterprises the opportunity to participate in its core business for the last 10 years. The research subjects are 6 social enterprises that experienced CSR broadcasting, GS SHOP performing CSR, and Beautiful Store foundation, an intermediary organization. The case study method is used as the research method. As a result of the analysis, the social enterprises’ business competencies are strengthened and their performance improved through participating in CSR home shopping. The input of core competencies of the large enterprise and the intermediary organization is the main factor for strengthening the competencies of the social enterprises. The intermediary organization contributes to strengthening capabilities and achieving goals by mediating resources and technologies based on mutual understanding of large companies and social enterprises and performing customized support in the entire process so that social enterprises can achieve their goals. This study implicates that is necessary to more actively put in the core competencies of a large company so as to improve the competencies of social enterprises, and such practices should be expanded. In addition, in order for small social enterprises to enter the distribution of large corporations, the role of an intermediary organization to provide customized support in the entire process so that they can understand social enterprises and supplement their shortcomings is essential.
