간호대학생의 문화역량과 관련 변인 간의 구조분석 (The Structural Analysis of Variables Related to Cultural Competence in Nursing Students)

초록

본 연구는 간호대학생의 문화역량에 대한 관계를 설명하는 가설적 모형을 구축하고, 모형의 적합성을 확인하기 위해 실시하였다. 2016년 9월 19일부터 2016년 9월 28일까지 일개 도시와 일개 지역에 위치한 8개 대학에서 418명의 간호대학생에게 자료 수집을 하였다. 문화 간 의사소통 능력이론, 문화역량과 자신감 모델, 그리고 선행연구를 기반으로 다문화 경험, 감성 지능, 비판적 사고성향, 문화 간 불안, 의사소통 능력, 자기효능감, 문화역량 간의 구조모형을 구성하였다. 연구 결과, 최종 수정 모형에서 간호대학생의 문화역량은 변인들에 의해 50.0%가 설명되었고, 모든 변수간의 경로계수가 통계적으로 유의하였다. 이 연구 결과는 의사소통 능력, 자기효능감이 간호대학생의 문화역량에 직접적으로 관련되어 있었고, 다문화 경험은 직·간접적으로 연관되어 있었으며, 감성 지능, 비판적 사고성향, 문화 간 불안은 문화역량에 간접적으로 관련되었다. 따라서 간호대학생을 위한 문화역량 프로그램은 보다 효과적인 다문화 경험을 포함하고, 의사소통 능력과 자기효능감 향상, 문화 간 불안 감소를 포함한 프로그램이 필요하다.

영어초록

The aim of this study was to construct a model of cultural competence in nursing students and to verify the goodness of fitness of the model. The hypothetical model consisted of 7 different variables: multicultural experience, emotional intelligence, critical thinking disposition, intercultural anxiety, multicultural communication, self­efficacy, and cultural competency. The subjects were 418 nursing students selected from 8 universities located in D city and G province. The modified model generally showed more than recommended level of model fit indices and acceptable explanation. The predicting variables explained 50% of cultural competence. Also, the 10 path modified model was statistically significant in all aspects. The result of the study suggests that communication skill, multicultural experience, and self­efficacy were direct relevant valuables of cultural competence in nursing students. Multicultural experience had a direct or indirect effects on not only direct effects on cultural competence but also on communication ability, self­efficacy, and intercultural anxiety. On the other hand, emotional intelligence, critical thinking disposition, and intercultural anxiety were the factors indirectly affecting cultural competence. In order to enhance the cultural competence of nursing students, it can be seen that the more experience of multiculture is, the more effective it is. The cultural competence programs for nursing students should include enhancing self-efficacy and communication ability, developing emotional intelligence and critical thinking disposition, and reducing intercultural anxiety through various experiences of suburban activities.
