대학생 대상 문화다양성 역량 척도 개발 및 타당화 연구 (Validating the Cultural Diversity Competency Scale for University Students)

지구촌 시대를 살아가는 현대인에게 문화다양성을 올바르게 인식하는 능력은 날이 갈수록 중요해지고 있다. 문화다양성 역량을 제고하기 위하여 먼저 다양성 수준을 이해하는 것이 중요하나, 현재 문화다양성 역량을 측정하는 타당화된 도구는 드물다. 이에 본 연구는 대학생의 문화다양성 역량을 측정할 수 있는 도구를 개발하고 그 타당도를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 문화다양성 역량을 인지적, 감수성, 실천적 영역의 24문항으로 구성한 후 전국 9개 대학의 학생을대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였다(총 536명). 주분석은 Rasch 측정모형을 기반으로 한 Winsteps 프로그램을사용하여 네 영역의 타당도, 즉 구인, 내용, 실제적, 일반화 관련 타당도를 살펴보았다. 잔차분석을 통하여 살펴본결과 구인관련 타당도는 세 영역에서 각각 6개, 4개, 8개 문항이 해당 구인에 적합한 것으로 나타났으며, 문항은대체로 설문 참여자의 평균 수준에 분포되어 있었다. 이 외에 창의·융합 역량을 준거관련 타당도에 해당하는 척도로설정하였는데, 문화다양성 인지 및 실천 역량 하위척도와의 상관관계가 높아서 준거관련 타당도의 증거로 볼 수있었다. 하지만 성차와 관련된 인지 및 감수성 역량 문항을 포함한 제외된 6개의 문항을 사용하기 위하여 응답자수준에 적합하도록 문항을 수정할 필요가 있다.

영어초록

The ability to properly recognize cultural diversity or cultural diversity competency (CDC) is becoming more and more important for global citizens. In order to improve cultural diversity competency, it is necessary to understand its levels; however, only a few valid instruments measure the cultural diversity competency of university students.
Therefore, this study is designed to validate an instrument for measuring cultural diversity competency of university students. A total of 24 items, constituting the cognitive, affective, and behavioral domains, were constructed. A total of 536 students from nine universities across the country participated in the online survey. Major analyses were based on a Rasch measurement model using Winsteps program. Four areas of validity—construct-, content-, practical-, and criterion-related validity—were analyzed. Results of the analyses showed that the construct validity in the three (cognitive, affective, behavioral) domains was secured with 6, 4, and 8 items respectively. The technical aspects of content-related validity in each domain with respective items were good, but the items were distributed along the mean CDC level of the survey respondents. Gender-related Differential Item Functioning (DIF) was observed in cognitive and behavioral domains, but two salient DIF in cognitive and behavior items required attention in using the scales. In addition, correlation analyses were conducted between cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects of cultural diversity competency and creativity-convergence-related competency as criterion-related validity evidence. The correlations between cognitive and behavioral aspects of cultural diversity competency with creativity-convergence-related competency were high(r >0.5), which is evidence of criterion-related validity. However, to utilize the discarded 6 items, revision is needed that fits the CDC level of the respondents.
