대학생 진로적응성 관련 영향 변인에 관한 메타분석 (A meta-analysis of Antecedent Variables on Career Adaptability of Undergraduate Student)

초록

본 연구에서는 대학생의 진로적응성과 관련된 영향 변인들의 관계에 대한 국내의 연구결과들을 메타분석을 통해 종합적으로 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 대학생 진로적응성에 관한 선행연구들을 종합적으로 검토하였으며, 진로적응성 개념이 사용되기 시작한 2009년 1월부터 2018년 6월까지 발행된 학위논문 및 학술지 논문 총 59편을 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 대학생의 진로적응성 관련 변인군으로 구성주의 진로발달이론 등에 근거하여 3개의 변인군(심리적 특성 변인군, 행동적 특성 변인군, 사회환경적 특성 변인군)으로 설정하였고, 분석 결과 13개의 변인이 도출되었다. 둘째, 대학생 진로적응성 관련 변인군의 효과크기는 행동적 특성 변인군, 심리적 특성 변인군, 사회환경적 특성 변인군 순으로 높게 나타났다. 심리적 특성 변인군에서는 7개의 변인들이 38개의 효과크기를 보였고, 행동적 특성 변인군에서는 4개 변인들이 24개의 효과크기가 나타났으며, 사회환경적 특성 변인군에서는 2개의 변인에서 12개의 효과크기가 나타났다. 셋째, 대학생의 진로적응성 관련 변인들 중 행동적 특성 변인군의 우연대처기술이 가장 큰 효과크기를 보였고, 다음으로는 자기주도학습이 높게 나타났다. 심리적 특성 변인군에서는 셀프리더십이 큰 효과크기를 보였으며, 다음으로는 성격강점 변인이 높게 나타났다. 사회환경적 특성 변인군에서는 사회적 지지가 비교적 높은 효과크기를 보였다. 한편, 사회환경적 특성 변인군의 진로장벽은 유일하게 대학생의 진로적응성을 억제하는 변인으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 이 연구의 의의 및 연구의 제한점과 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to comprehensively analyze the variables that affect the career adaptability of undergraduate students through the meta-analytic approach with the academic discussion. For this purpose, previous studies on career adaptability were reviewed comprehensively and meta-analysis was used to analyze dissertations and academic journals published in Korea from the year of 2009 to June 2018 which dealt the antecedents of undergraduate students’ career adaptability. Main results of this study were as follows: First, The influence variables were categorized in 3 groups -psychological, behavioural, and socio-environmental variables- based on career construction theory, and 13 variables were extracted. Second, the most influential variable group was behavioural variables, which was followed by psychological, socio-environmental characteristics; psychological variables (7 variables, 38 effect size), behavioural variables (4 variables, 24 effect size), socio-environmental variables (2 variables, 12 effect size). Third, the most influential variables on career adaptability of undergraduate student was happenstance coping skills and followed by self-directed learning in behavioral characteristic. In psychological variables groups, the self-leadership showed the highest effect size, and next, the personality strength variable. In the socio-environmental variables group, social support showed the greatest effect size. On the other hand, career barriers in the socio-environmental variables group were the only variable has a negative effect on the career adaptability. In conclusion, the career adaptability of university students is a key variable that enables students to flexibly cope with the problems faced in new and uncertain career/work environments. Therefore, in order to improve the adaptability of the career, it is necessary to support not only in individual dimension but also the practical and environmental support. The wider range of subjects and variables is required for the future studies.
