초록

The study has focused on how the participation of senior citizens in HANGUNG affects their leisure satisfaction, emotional happiness, and quality of life. For this purpose, this article investigates a sample of senior citizens (>60 years old) who currently play HANGUNG as their leisure activities in Chungcung-do region. This paper uses the stratified cluster random sampling methods to collect total 590 samples (Male 375, Female 215); it excludes 10 samples due to their incoherent answers. For the analysis of leisure satisfaction, we use the measure of Beard and Raghed (1990), translated into Korean by Jong-gil Lee (1992), and the measure of En-ju Song (2008) based on the questionnaire of Seong-jae Choi (1986). Toemotional happiness examine the degree of emotional happiness, we employ the survey questions based on Myung-mi Kim (2005) which re-organizes the questionnaire of Ju-sung Lee (1991), an adaptation of Tellegen (1998)’s survey reflecting Korean cultural background. We adopt the measure of Hyung-ok Jung (2002), a modification Su-Jung Choi (2001) for the quality of life analysis. We conduct the Frequency Analysis, Explanatory Factor Analysis, Reliability Analysis and Multiple Regressions analysis by using SPSS Windows 18.0 Version. The main results are as follows. First, the degree of leisure satisfaction partially affects the emotional happiness. Second, the emotional happiness influences the quality of life. Third, the quality of life has some effects on the degree of leisure satisfaction. All of the main findings indicate close interdependence among examined factor elements.
