노인의 지역사회환경 만족 유형별 삶의 만족도⋅차별경험 차이에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Differences in Life Satisfaction and Discrimination Experience by Type of Community Environment Satisfaction of the Elderly)

초록

우리나라의 지역사회환경은 경제 발전과 맞물리면서 인프라와 같은 물리적 환경과 함께 이웃 간의 정과 신뢰와 같은 사회적 환경 모두 급변하였다. 산업화와 도시화 과정에서 대도시에 집중된 발전이 소규모 지방 지역까지 균일하게 발전하기 어려웠고, 이에 따라 지역사회환경은 동질적이지 않고 각기 다른 특성을 지니고 있다. 특히, 노인은 제한된 생활반경으로 지역사회환경이 삶의 전반에 미치는 영향력은 매우 크다. 이에 본 연구는 노인의 지역사회환경 영역별 만족을 토대로 잠재프로파일을 실시하여 지역사회환경 만족 유형을 도출하고, 이후 로지스틱회귀분석을 통해 지역사회환경 만족 유형 결정에 영향을 미치는 인구사회학적 요인을 밝히고, 마지막으로 BCH 접근으로 지역사회환경 만족 유형별 삶의 만족도와 차별경험의 차이를 분석하였다. 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 먼저 본 연구의 지역사회환경의 잠재프로파일 분석 결과 3가지 유형으로 도출되어 ‘지역사회환경 만족 집단’, ‘지역사회환경 보통 집단’, ‘지역사회환경 불만족 집단’으로 구분되어졌다. 두 번째로, 지역사회환경 보통 집단을 준거집단으로 삼아 불만족 집단과 만족 집단에 모두 영향을 미치는 요인은 거주지역이었다. 세 번째로, 지역사회환경 만족 유형별 삶의 만족도에 유의미한 차이가 나타나 지역 사회환경 만족 집단, 보통 집단, 불만족 집단 순으로 삶의 만족도가 유의미하게 높았으며, 차별경험은 지역사회환경 불만족 집단이 만족 집단에 비해, 보통 집단이 만족 집단에 비해 유의미하게 더 많았다. 본 연구의 분석결과를 기반으로 노년기 지역사회환경 조성의 중요성에 대한 정책적 근거와 방향성을 제시하였다.

영어초록

Korea's community environment has undergone rapid changes in both infrastructure and social environments due to rapid changes in economic development. In the process of industrialization and urbanization, it was difficult for development concentrated in large cities to develop uniformly in small-scale rural areas, resulting in different characteristics of each local environment. In particular, the elderly have a very large influence of the community environment due to the limited life radius. In this regard, this study conducted a latent profile based on the satisfaction of the elderly in each area of the community environment to derive the type of community environment satisfaction, and then, through logistic regression analysis, revealed the socio-demographic factors affecting the determination of the community environment satisfaction type. And finally, the difference in life satisfaction and discrimination experience by type of community environment satisfaction was analyzed using the BCH approach. The summary of the analysis results is as follows. First, as a result of the potential profile analysis of the community environment in this study, three types were derived and classified into ‘community environment satisfaction group’, ‘community environment normal group’, and ‘community environment dissatisfaction group’. Second, the factor influencing both the dissatisfied and satisfied groups, taking the normal group as the reference group, was the residential area. Thirdly, there was a significant difference in life satisfaction by community environment type, and life satisfaction was significantly higher in the order of community environment satisfaction group, normal group, and dissatisfied group. Fourth, discrimination experiences by type of community environment also showed a significant difference, indicating that the community environment dissatisfied group had significantly more discrimination experiences than the satisfied group, and the normal group compared to the satisfied group. Therefore, based on the analysis results of this study, grounds for the importance of creating a community environment for the elderly and policy direction were presented.
