초록

Due to recent emergence of low-cost carriers in the aviation industry, new markets and new types of services have been successfully developed. However, while existing researches focused on full service carriers' flight attendants are prolific, research on low-cost carriers' crew is hard to find. This study, utilizing the concept of 'job-esteem', compared the job-esteem of low-cost carriers crews with that of full service carriers' crews and analyzed the effects of job-esteem of flight attendants on job-satisfaction and turnover intention.
Based on previous researches upon 'job-esteem', a total of 228 questionnaires, consisted of 125 for full service carrier and 103 for of low-cost carriers' crews, are utilized for analysis. Frequency analysis, T-test, factor analysis, regression analysis were performed.
Primary analysis of this study revealed that, on the contrary to our expectation, low-cost carriers' flight attendants showed more positive job-esteem, higher job satisfaction that those of full service carrier crews. Finally, although both full service carrier flight and low-cost carrier attendants are also negative to turnover intention, the full service carrier flight attendant's turnover intention has appeared somewhat higher than that of low-cost carrier flight attendants.
