일본어 형용사 「賑やか」의 의미 용법에 관한 고찰– 「賑やかな＋名詞」의 한국어 번역 양상을 중심으로 – (A Study on the Meaning Usage of the Japanese Adjective “nigiyaka” - Focusing on Korean Translation Patterns of “nigiyakana + Noun” -)

초록

「賑やか」は初級日本語で導入される代表的な「ナ形容詞」の一つであるが、他の基本形容詞と違って、多義的性質があり、対応する韓国語の形容詞も単純ではない。 本稿では、このような「賑やか」の多義性に注目し、その意味用法について考察し、連語的な観点から「賑やかな」がどのような名詞と結合しており、「賑やかな＋名詞」はどのような韓国語連語に対応しているのか、その対応関係について考察を行った。 「賑やか」は基本的に「多数(複数)․豊富さ」の意味特徴を持っているプラスイメージの形容詞として、(1)多数(複数)の人による活気のある音(声)及び状態、(2)よくしゃべったり笑ったりする姿や感情表現の豊かな陽気な性格、(3)物事の種類の多様さと豊かな状態を表す三つの意味用法を持っている。 ところが、日本語辞典及び日韓対訳辞典などでは、「賑やか」の意味用法に関する分類基準が明確ではなく、三つの意味用法の中で、人の性格を表す意味用法と物事の種類の多様さと豊かな状態を表す意味用法についての記述が抜けていることが確認できた。 「賑やかな＋名詞」用例を、名詞の意味により分類し、「パパゴ」と「チャットgpt」の翻訳様相を比較、検討したが、前者に比べ、翻訳エラーの少ない後者においても聴覚形容詞による適切ではない翻訳結果が産出される場合が多く見られた。 日本語教育への応用として、「賑やか」を指導する際には、まず「賑やかな＋名詞」の連語で提示し、「賑やかな」と結合する名詞の意味により、対応する韓国語の形容詞が異なる点を理解させた上で、「賑やか」の意味の違いにより、対応する韓国語の形容詞が異なる類型を提示し、「賑やか」の多義性を把握できるように指導することを提案したい。

영어초록

“Nigiyaka” is one of the representative “Na-adjectives” introduced in elementary Japanese, but unlike other basic adjectives, it has a polysemous nature, and the corresponding Korean adjective is not simple.
In this paper, I focus on the polysemy of ‘nigiyaka’, examine its meaning and usage, and from a collocational perspective, analyze which nouns “nigiyaka-na” is combined with and how “nigiyaka-na + noun” corresponds to expressions in Korean, using machine translation as a reference for the analysis.
“Nigiyaka” is basically an adjective for positive images with meaning characteristics of many (multiple) and abundance. It can be classified into three semantic uses: (1) the lively sound and state of things by many (multiple) people, (2) the cheerful personality of talking and laughing often and expressing emotions, and (3) the diversity and richness of things.
However, in Japanese dictionaries and Japanese-Korean bilingual dictionaries, the classification criteria for the meaning and usage of ‘nigiyaka’ are unclear, and it has been confirmed that explanations for the meanings related to a person’s character and those of the diversity and richness of things are missing among the three types of meaning and usage.
The examples of “nigiyakana + noun” were classified according to the meaning of the noun, and the translations of Papago and ChatGPT were compared. Even in ChatGPT, which had fewer translation errors, there were frequent cases of translation errors using auditory adjectives.
When teaching ‘nigiyaka,’ it is advisable to first present it as a collocation with ‘nigiyakana + noun,’ after helping students understand that the corresponding Korean adjective changes depending on the meaning of the noun combined with ‘nigiyakana.’ Additionally, it is important to present the different types of corresponding Korean adjectives according to the variations in the meaning of ‘nigiyaka,’ so that students can grasp its polysemy.
