초록

이 글에서는 명종 22년 불명산 쌍계사에서 조성된 「계초심학인문」에 새겨진 기본정보를 처음으로 정리․소개한 다음, 해당 판본의 계열도 분석하였다. 이러한 사전작업을 바탕으로 해당 판본의 조성사업에 담긴 역사․문화적인 성격도 조사하였다.
불명산 쌍계사에서 개판된 「계초심학인문」 제32장의 기본정보에는 16세기 중엽 은진 지역사회와 함께 쌍계사의 역사․문화적인 실체와 성격을 진단할 수 있는 원천정보가 함축되어 있으며, 관찬 사서․지리지 및 개인 문집 등에서도 기록되어 있지 않으므로, 16세기 중엽 불명산 쌍계사 및 은진지역의 사회사와 불교사를 해명할 수 있는 핵심적인 보완자료로 활용할 수 있다.
우선, 불명산 쌍계사판의 「계초심학인문」은 다양한 비교지표에서 명종 21년 음력 9월 묘향산 보현사에서 판각․유통된 판본 계통으로 확인되었다. 이로써 불명산 쌍계사는 당시 묘향산 보현사와 물적 교류가 이루어졌다고 할 수 있다. 두 번째, 명종 22년 불명산 쌍계사의 「계초심학인문」 조성 불사는 다양한 출신성분의 지원․동참으로 이루어졌으며, 조직체계는 승려․세속단월의 교속 이원적인 협조체계로 운영되었다고 확인할 수 있다. 세 번째, 당시 불명산 쌍계사는 왕실의 안녕을 기원하고 왕실의 권위를 수용하는 현실 인식과 함께 중국 명나라 중심의 대외인식도 가지고 있었다. 마지막으로, 쌍계사에서 「계초심학인문」을 간행할 당시에는 불명산 쌍계사가 불교 강원을 운영하였거나 지원하였을 개연성도 높다고 볼 수 있다.

영어초록

In this article, the basic information engraved in the Gyechosimhakinmun created by Ssanggyesa Temple in Bulmyoungsan Mountain in 22nd year of King Myeongjong’s reign was first summarized and introduced, and the series of the edition was also analyzed.Based on these preliminary works, the historical and cultural characteristics contained in the creation project of the edition were also examined.
The basic information in Chapter 32 of Gyechosimhakinmun republished at Ssanggyesa Temple in Bulmyoungsan Mountain implies the original information that can examine the historical and cultural substance and characteristics of Ssanggyesa Temple in the mid-16th century, and since it is not recorded in government-sponsored librarians, geography, and personal collections, it can be used as a key supplementary material to explain the social and Buddhist history of Ssanggyesa Temple and Eunjin area in Bulmyoungsan Mountain in the mid-16th century.
First of all, the Gyechosimhakinmun of the Ssanggyesa Temple in Bulmyoungsan Mountain was identified as a copy system engraved and distributed at Bohyeonsa Temple in Myohyangsan Mountain in the ninth month of the lunar calendar of in 22nd year of King Myeongjong’s reign. As a result, it can be said that Ssanggyesa Temple in Bulmyoungsan Mountain had physical exchanges with Bohyeonsa Temple in Myohyangsan Mountain at that time.
Second, in the 22nd year of King Myeongjong’s reign, the creation of the Gyechosimhakinmun by Ssanggyesa Temple in Bulmyoungsan Mountain consisted of the support and participation from various factions, and the organizational system was managed with a dual cooperation system between monks and secular members. Third, at that time, the Ssanggyesa Temple in Bulmyoungsan Mountain had a recognition of the outside world centered on the Ming Dynasty of China alogn with the recognition of the reality wishing for the well-being of the royal family and accepting the authority of the royal family. Finally, when Ssanggyesa Temple published the Gyechosimhakinmun, it is highly likely that Ssanggyesa Temple in Bulmyoungsan Mountain managed or supported Buddhist Accademy.
