초록

In response to the humidifier sterilizer incident in 2011 and hydrofluoric acid leak in Gumi in 2012, South Korea introduced the revised Chemicals Control Act in 2015 to strengthen hazardous chemical management. Despite an initial decrease in chemical accidents, 2021 saw incidents at levels similar to pre-Act times, suggesting inadequate on-site management. This study utilized data from the Korea Environmental Corporation from 2020 to 2022 to analyze the distribution and inspection outcomes of hazardous chemical handling facilities. The analysis revealed varying non-pass results based on region, company size, type of facilities, inspection type and date. In particular, among the facilities categorized by industry, the non-pass rate for dye handling facilities was found to be very high, exceeding 30%. This research provides foundational data for safety management and policy formulation in hazardous chemical facilities, indicating the need for continuous analysis and consideration of additional variables.
