해양질서의 관점으로 본 王險城의 성격과 위치 (Geographical Features and Location of Ancient Wang-hum City from the Angle of Maritime Order View)

초록

王險城은 소위 衛滿朝鮮의 수도이며, 조한전쟁의 결과로 설치되었다는 한사군의 위치와 직결되고 있다. 따라서 그 성의 위치를 비정하는 일은 매우 중요하다. 본고는 위만에 의해 세워진 조선의 왕험성 위치와 성격에 관하여 살펴보았다. 다만 기존의 연과와 달리 몇 가지 전제를 갖고 작성되었다. 조선과 위만조선은 구분한다. 또한 王險城과 王儉城은 구분한다. 사료에 기록된 王險은 위만조선의 왕성일 수는 있지만 王儉城이 곧 王險城은 아니다.
해양 지리적 관점에서 발해의 해양 환경을 분석하였고, 항구도시 및 교통로 문제 등을 살펴보았다. 다음 단계로 해양 전략적 관점으로 한나라의 군사전략과 양국 간의 전쟁 과정을 분석하면서 항구도시인 왕험성의 위치를 탐구하였다. 그 결과 다음 같은 결론을 내렸다.
첫째, 王險城은 險瀆으로 표기되어 있다. 둘째, 왕험성은 海港都市 또는 江海都市일 가능성이 농후하다. 셋째, 해양환경등과 고대 교통로를 고려하고, 역사상을 분석한 결과 그 시대를 전후해서는 襄平인 현 遼陽이 정치 군사 경제의 중심지였다. 넷째, 모든 전황을 고려면 요하에 도착한 수군은 요구에서 강을 거슬러 올라가 襄平에 도달하였다. 기타의 경우에도 요동반도 남단에 상륙한 다음에 陸路와 水路를 병행하여 양평에 도착하였다. 다섯째, 현재 해성 三岔河(鄭家店 牛莊 근처) 지역은 고대에는 바닷가였다. 『史記』에 기록된 왕험성의 설명과 흡사하다. 해성에서 수로로 양평까지 가까운(수 백리) 수로망으로 연결된다. 적어도 해양질서와 교통로 국제질서와 그 시대에 벌어진 전쟁 및 교류 상황 등을 고려할 때 위만조선의 수도로 알려진 왕험성은 현재 요양시인 襄平이다.

영어초록

‘Wang-hum city’ used to be the capital city of ancient Korea during ‘Wi-man Josun’s period. To determine the exact location of the city is considered to be a very important historical topic, since the city was regarded as an essential result of the war between the Han dynasty and the ancient Korea. It was also an important place were related to the ‘Han-Sijun(Chinese four-County)’ established by the emperor of the Han dynasty for management of the region. The purpose of this paper is tantamount to reveal the exact location and features of the city. However, different from previous studies, the author distinguishes between two cities of Wang-hum and Wang-gum, and pays special attention on the differences of the periods of ‘Josun’ and Wi-man Josun. Further more the author also summarized the characteristics of the neighboring port cities based on environmental analysis of the Bohai Sea. Through the author's analysis from the viewpoint of maritime strategy of war between the ‘Han’ dynasty and ancient Korea, the author presumed a probably accurate location of the primordial ‘Wang-hum city’ at that time. Author's conclusions are approved as followings. First, the city had been named or marked as ‘Hum-dok’ during the war time. Second, it had the obvious characteristics of the harbour city. Third, according to the analysis of history and marine traffic characteristics of the area, the author speculates that city of ‘Lyang-pyung’ was the center of local political and military at that period. The fourth, during the war course, the navy army firstly entered Liao-River then reversed to ‘Lyang-pyung’ city, meanwhile, other troops landed at the southern part of the Liaodong Peninsula, then all of them assembled at Yang Ping area. The last point is the place of ‘San-cha-he’ was once a coastal area during the ancient period. All these speculations above are basically same to the description of the city in the book of ‘Shi-Ji(Chinese Historical Records)’. In other words, there was already existed a waterway network during or even before the war time. Depending on the then-current ocean-order and communicating situation. So the author speculates that the exact location of the Wang-hum city might be the place of ‘Lyang-pyung’, that of today's Liao-yang city locates at northeast place in China.
