초록

The purpose of this study is to reveal topographically the location characteristics of Donamseowon located in Nonsan City. Donamseowon, established in 1634, was moved to its current location in 1880. In order to reveal the old site of Donamseowon and the location of Donamseowon, the topography was examined by dividing the basin, and the types of watersheds located in the basin were categorized into four types. And through analysis of topographical factors, the location characteristics of Donamseowon and the reason for relocating Donamseowon were revealed. ① The 18 watersheds were divided into 4 types of settlement location. Type-I is the case where settlements are formed on the low plains within the valley, Type- II is the case where settlements are formed on the shoreline outside the valley. Type- III is a type with no settlements inside or outside the valley, and Type-IV is a type with settlements both inside and outside the valley. ② The old site of Donamseowon and Donamseowon correspond to Type I among the basins, and the size, slope, and slope direction of the basin did not affect the location selection. However, it was revealed that among topographical factors, elevation was the factor that influenced location deciding, as the minimum elevation related to flooding had an influence. ③ The old site of Donamseowon has a minimum elevation of 14m and is prone to flooding. On the other hand, Donamseowon has a minimum elevation of 30m, making it safe from flooding. Therefore, the reason for relocating Donamseowon was to select a terrain that is safe from flooding.
