조선 시대 소재별 학(鶴) 문양의 상징성과 조형 특성 연구 (A Study on the Symbolism and Molding Characteristics of Crane Patterns by Materials in the Joseon Dynasty)

초록

십장생1) 중 하나인 학(鶴)은 중국의 신선(神仙) 사상에서 유래되었다. 십장생 문양은 장수물(長壽物)로자연숭배 대상이었으며, 조상들은 십장생을 문양으로표현하여 전통 공예와 그림, 조각 등 다양한 방법으로표현하였다. 학(鶴) 문양이 표현된 소재에 따라 여러상징성과 장식성을 갖춘 문양으로 계승되었으며, 목적에 따른 여러 소재의 접목으로 전통 공예 미술과 디자인 조형 분야의 중요한 사례로 오늘날까지 다양하게해석되고 있다.
본 연구는 오늘날 디자인 분야인 공예(섬유, 금속, 목조형, 도자) 영역에서 다양한 활용과 응용에 도움을 주고자 아래와 같은 과정으로 연구를 진행하여 각 소재의조형 특성과 의미하는 여러 상징성을 도출하였다.
첫째, 서론으로 연구목적과 연구범위 및 방법을 서술하였다. 연구범위는 조선 시대 공예품으로 건축물과 장식품의 표현된 학(鶴) 문양으로 국한하였으며, 연구방법은 선행 자료(인터넷, 전시자료) 및 문헌 연구를수집 조사하여 내용을 분석하였다.
둘째, 본론으로 조선 시대 공예품에 표현된 학(鶴) 문양의 특성을 연구하여 상징성과 쓰임에 따라 학(鶴) 문양을 분류하고, 조형 특성과 상징성을 분석하였다.
셋째, 연구 결과로 건축물과 장식품의 소재를 섬유, 금속, 나무, 흙을 구분하여 학(鶴) 문양이 활용된 흉배, 수저집, 베갯모, 버선 본집, 장석, 목판, 능화판, 도자등 차별화된 디자인 조형 특성을 알 수 있었다.
소재별로 섬유의 학(鶴) 문양은 대부분 쌍 학의 구조로 다산과 금슬을 상징하였으며, 금속의 학(鶴) 문양은 사실적인 묘사로 벽사를 상징하였고, 나무와 흙 소재로 표현된 화려한 날개의 학(鶴) 문양은 권위와 장수 길상으로 상징되었던 것을 알 수 있다.
본 연구를 통해 학(鶴) 문양의 조형 특성에 따른 상징성과 전통 문양 발전 및 학(鶴) 문양의 디자인 개발에 중요한 선행자료로 이용되길 기원한다.

영어초록

The ten traditional Symbols of Longevity One of the cranes originated from the Chinese Taoist hermit ideology. The ten traditional Symbols of Longevity patten was a long-living object, and the ancestors expressed it in a variety of ways, including traditional crafts, painting, and sculpture. According to the material in which the crane pattern was expressed, it was inherited as a pattern with various symbolism and decorative properties. It has been interpreted in various ways to this day as an important example in the field of traditional craft art and design molding by grafting various materials according to purpose.
In this research, in the field of craft (fiber, metal, neck molding, ceramics), which is today’s design field, we helped in various applications and applications. By conducting research in the following process, we derived some symbolisms that mean the molding characteristics of each material.
First, the purpose of the research, the scope and method of the research were described. The scope of the research is limited to the Crane patterns of architecture and decorations that were expressed in the crafts of the Joseon era, and the method of research is to collect and investigate prior releases (Internet, exhibition materials) and literature research was analyzed.
Secondly, in this paper, we study the characteristics of crane patterns expressed in Korean-era crafts, classify crane patterns according to their symbols and uses, and analyze their modeling characteristics and symbolism.
Third, as a result of research, the materials of buildings and ornaments are divided into fiber, metal, wood, and ceramic. Crane pattern used Rank Badge, Spoonhouse, Pillowcase, The original book of socks, Jang Suk, Woodblock, Neunghwapan, I was able to know the design molding characteristics. Textile study by material crane pattern symbolizes fecundity and conjugal harmony in most paired structure, the metal crane pattern symbolized Byeoksa as a realistic description, it can be seen that the crane pattern made of wood and soil was a symbol of authority and longevity as an expression of gorgeous wings.
Through this study, I hope that it will be used as an important precedent for the development of symbolism and traditional patterns and design of crane patterns according to the modeling characteristics of crane patterns.
