고려 출수 목간의 지역별 문서양식과 선적방식 (Goryeo period’s Mokgan tags discovered from water - Forms of Documents that appeared upon them, and how cargo-loading seemingly proceeded at the time, in various local regions -)

초록

이 글은 태안 침몰선 출수 고려 목간을 대상으로 목간의 생산지인 지명을 중심으로 게재된 내용을 분석하여 고려 문서의 지역성과 양식을 추출하였다. 그리고 문서 양식을 통해 운송과 선적에 대해 검토하였다.
고려 침몰선 목간은 郡縣을 달리 하여 제작되었으며, 발송지, 수신지, 물품을 기입하고 있다. 특히, 마도 1호선의 죽산현은 干支 등이 포함된 양식에서 다른 군현과 다른 모습을 보이고 있다. 군현 내에서도 발송인이 각자 작성하여 기록한 목간임을 알 수 있다. 그러나 대체적으로 발송지, 수취인, 물품, 운송인, 선적인을 기록하는 것은 거의 동일하다. 고려 목간의 일반적인 양식을 추출할 수 있으며, 꼬리표 목간에 해당하는 檢과 楬에 해당하는 내용으로 구성되어 있다.
고려 목간이 사용되던 시기에는 종이문서가 일반화되어 있던 紙木竝用期였으므로 서로 보완적인 관계를 형성하고 있었다. 고려 목간에는 운송과 선적 과정에서 작성된 것이므로 운송시 작성한 목간의 내용이 선적시에 다시 기입되기도 하였다. 이를 통해 운송 대장에 해당하는 종이문서를 추출할 수 있었다.
군현에서 수취한 물품은 군현의 창고에 수납되었다가 향리들이 조창으로 운반하였다. 군현의 창고는 군현의 중심지에 소재하였으며, 관할 조창으로 운반하여 선적하였다. 마도 2호선에서는 백산성과 고사부리성의 창고에서 보관하였다가 조창인 안흥창으로 운반하였을 것이다.

영어초록

Examined in this article are the wooden tags found from wrecks excavated from the sea near the Tae’an region. Names of local areas indicated on those wooden tags are analyzed, in order to determine the local nature and formats featured by Goryeo period’s documents. Also, the transportation and shipment process of the time are also examined here.
Wooden tags were created in different fashions, according to the Gun & Hyeon(郡縣) regions where they were generated. But in most of the cases, general contents of such tags included the place of origin, place of the recipient, and nature of the item being shipped. For example, the Juksan-hyeon area -as indicated from the wooden tag found from the Mado 1 wreck, displayed a practice somewhat different from other regions in terms of the way years and dates(干支) were indicated. We can see that the sender itself created that wooden tag, who revealed in that tag where the shipment departed, who was to receive it, what was the item, who was transporting it, and who shipped it, etc.
In the Goryeo period, it was already a norm to use not only wooden Mokgan tags but paper documents as well. In other words, wooden tags and paper documents were complementing each other. The Goryeo wooden tags were created while the items were being transported and loaded, and sometimes contents of shipments -which were initially recorded during transport- were sometimes re-recorded when they were being uploaded on board. By examination of such records, we can also deduce the forms of paper documents.
Items collected in local Gun and Hyeon areas were transported and then transferred over to the custody of in-region warehouses, and were then relocated to predesignated “Jochang” warehouses by the Hyang’ri clerks. The Gun/Hyeon warehouses were located at the center of such local units, and then moved to Jochang facilities in the vicinity. The items on board the Mado 2 wreck would have been initially in custody of warehouses in the Baeksan-seong or Gosaburi-seong fortresses, and then moved to the Anheung-chang Jochang warehouse.
