高句麗 壁畵古墳의 編年에 관한 檢討 (Study on chronology of Koguryo mural tombs)

초록

고구려 고분벽화의 편년을 위해서 묘실구조의 변화상과 벽화내용의 변화상을 종합한 고구려벽화고분의 유형에 따라 분류할 수 있다. 아울러 벽화고분에서 확인되는 여러 요소들의 속성이나 출토된 유물을 통해 이 부분을 확인 혹은 보완할 수 있을 것이다. 여기서는 기존에 제시한고구려 벽화고분의 유형에 따라 벽화고분의 편년안을 제시하였다. 물론 도면이 확보를 통해묘실구조를 확인하고 아울러 고분에 그려진 벽화내용이 전체적으로 확인되는 고분을 대상으로한 것이다.
고구려 벽화고분의 유형은 다실분이면서 인물․생활풍속도가 그려진 유형(Ⅰ-A), 다실분이면서 장식무늬가 그려진 유형(Ⅰ-B), 다실분이면서 사신도가 그려진 유형(Ⅰ-C), 이실분이면서인물․생활풍속도가 그려진 유형(Ⅱ-A), 이실분이면서 장식무늬가 그려진 유형(Ⅱ-A), 이실분이면서 사신도가 그려진 유형(Ⅱ-C), 단실분이면서 인물․생활풍속도가 그려진 유형(Ⅲ-A), 단실분이면서 장식무늬가 그려진 유형(Ⅲ-B), 단실분이면서 사신도가 그려진 유형(Ⅲ-C), 그리고기타 특수한 유형(Ⅳ)으로 구분이 가능하다. 이들의 선후관계는 기본적으로는 (Ⅰ-A)․(Ⅲ-A)-> (Ⅱ-A)․(Ⅰ-B)․(Ⅱ-B) -> (Ⅰ-C)․(Ⅱ-C) -> (Ⅲ-B)․(Ⅲ-A) -> (Ⅲ-C) 순으로 발전되었을것으로 생각된다. 이러한 발견단계를 기본으로 하여 기타 여러 가지 요소를 감안하여 고구려벽화고분을 편년하면 3세기경의 금옥리 1호분을 필두로 하여 7세기 전반경의 강서중묘까지나타난다고 볼 수 있다. 개별 벽화고분에 대한 편년안은 본문에서 제시한 <표 3>과 같다.
한편 고구려 적석총 가운데에서도 벽화가 확인되는 것은 7기가 존재한다. 우산하 3319호분은357년경에 축조된 것으로 짐작되기 때문에 편년의 기준이 될 수 있다. 우산하 3319호분은 계단전실적석총이라는 특이한 형태의 고분으로 벽화는 인물 및 생활풍속도였을 것으로 짐작된다. 우산하 1041호분, 산성하 1405호분, 산성하 절천정묘, 산성하 1408호분, 산성하 725호분, 산성하798호분 등은 모두 계단석실적석총으로 벽화도 모두 인물 및 생활풍속도였을 것으로 보인다.
산성하 1408호분은 묘실구조가 이실분이고, 산성하 798호분이나 산성하 725호분은 연도부에일종의 감실을 갖춘 형태로 상대적으로 이른 시기의 고분으로 계단석실적석총의 등장이 대체로4세기 후반에나 가능하다는 점을 고려하면 5세기 전반경으로 적석총으로 볼 수 있다. 산성하절천정묘, 우산하 1041호분과 산성하 1405호분은 계단식으로 단실을 갖춘 형태로 5세기 중반경에 축조된 것으로 생각된다.

Koguryo mural tombs can be defined : The type of (Ⅰ-A) is a Dasil-boon(tomb with more than three rooms) with portraits and customs. Anak N. 3 built in 357 can be the standard for the chronicle. It was commonly distributed from the middle of the 4th century to the late 5th century. The type (Ⅲ-A), a Dansil-boon(tomb with one room) with portraits and customs seems to had been built in the near age. The Deokheungri tomb which was built in 408 can be the standard of the type of (Ⅰ-B), (Ⅰ-C), (Ⅱ-A) and (Ⅱ-C). They are DaSil-Boon with portraits, customs and Sashindo and Yisil-boon(tomb with two rooms) with portraits and customs and they had been commonly distributed from the first half to the middle of the 5th century. The type of (Ⅰ-D) and (Ⅱ-B) are Dasil-boon with Sashindo or Yisil-boon with portraits, customs and Sashindo or portraits, customs and decorative patterns. These seem to be built from the middle of the 5th century and the late 5th century. The type of (Ⅲ-C) and (Ⅲ-D) are Dan-sil-boon with portraits, customs and Sashindo or rooms of regressive form and decorative patterns. These are supposed to be built from the middle of the 5th century to the first half of the 6th century. The type of (Ⅲ-E) and (Ⅲ-F) are Dansil-boon with decorative patterns, Sashindo or Dansil-boon with Sashindo. These are supposed to be built from the late 5th century to the first half of the 7th century.
Meanwhile, among the stone-filed tombs seven wall-painted tombs can be divided into three forms: type Ⅲ-A, type Ⅲ-B and type Ⅱ-B by the structure. The type Ⅲ-A are Sanseongha No.725, Sanseongha No.798, Woosanha No.3319. The type Ⅲ-B are Sanseongha Jeol-cheon-jeong-myo, Woosanha No.1041, Sanseongha No.1405. The type Ⅱ-B is Sanseongha No.1408.
Among these stone-filed tombs Sanseongha Jeol-cheon-jeong-myo, Woosanha No.1041,Woosanha No.3319 have wall paintings which depict portraits and customs and the rest four tombs are also supposed to have wall paintings depicting portraits and customs. Thus these stone-filled tombs are divided into two types: one is YiSil-Boon and has wall paintings of portrait and customs, the other is Dan-sil-boon and has wall paintings of portrait and customs.
And It was already mentioned that Woo-san-ha No. 3319 is supposed to be built in 357,so this tomb can be the standard of chronicles of ancient Koguryo tombs. Woosanha No.
3319 is a special type of tomb(Gyedan-jeonsil stone-filled tomb; Stairway stone-filled tomb with blocked room) However, this tombs has some traits which provide that it was built relatively earlier than other tombs: It contains celadon porcelains of East Qin. This means it was influenced by the ancient Chinese culture. Sanseongha No. 798 and 725 have rooms on the route. In other word, this was built in the first half of the 5th century considering that Kyedan-seoksil-jeokseok-chong(Stairway stone-filled tomb with stoned room) did not appear until the late 4th century. Woo-san-ha No. 1041 and Sanseongha No. 1405 and Sanseongha No. 1408 are stairway-shaped and having one room. They are supposed to be built in the middle of the 5th century.
