    초록

    This study was conducted to produce fundamental data for variety selection and cultivation
    method improvement by establishing ideal heading dates according to the region and climate and by
    estimating meteorological yield and climatical yield according to the heading date. Heading dates and
    yields of 60 different regions in Korea were investigated and the results are as follows. Optimum heading
    dates predicted from average accumulated temperature during 40 days after heading was after August
    except for Taebaek and Inje of Gangwon province, Bonghwa of Jeonbuk province and Jangsu of Jeonbuk
    province. Optimum headings date in Masan, Busan, Tongyeong of Gyeongnam province and Yeosu
    and Wando of Jeonnam province lied in early September. Most regions had optimum heading dates in
    mid-late August. Optimum heading period was between 10~15 days, while most regions had 12 days as
    the optimum value. Safe heading period including optimum heading period was around 23 days in most
    regions. Meteorological yield was the highest in Chungnam province (505 kg/10a) and the lowest in
    Gangwon province (474 kg/10a). Among the regions, Buyeo and Buan had the highest meteorological
    yields (534 and 535kg/10a, respectively), and Gangneung was the lowest (449 kg/10a). Optimum heading
    date was the earliest in Inje and Jangsu (Jul 26) and the latest in Masan (Sep 5). Among climatic zones,
    meteorological yield was the highest in south western coast (508 kg/10a) and the lowest in central eastern
    coast. Climatical yield was the highest in Chungnam province (1,123 kg/10a) and the lowest in Gangwon
    province. Among the regions, Buyeo was the highest (1,266 kg/10a) and Gangneung was the lowest
    (842 kg/10a). Among the climatic zones, climatical yield was the highest in southern Charyeong plain
    (1,140 kg/10a) and the lowest in central eastern coast (860 kg/10a). In Taebaek semi alpine, central
    inland, Sobaek mountainous district, Yeongnam basin, Noryeong Sobaek mountainous district and
    Noryeong eastern & western inland, there was no difference between farmer's yield and meteorological
    yield. However, farmer's yield was higher in Honam inland, south eastern coast and southern Charyeong
    plain and meteorological yield was higher in central eastern coast and north eastern coast.
