비사(秘史) 백제부흥군 전쟁의 역사적 평가와 의의 (Historical Assessment and Meaning of Grieved History, Baekje Restoration Forces’ Warfare)

초록

This study is to re-analyse the patriotism and meaning of the Baekje people to restore their national Buyeo identities, history and culture sustained over about 700 years. It attempts to have a guideline for the future strategic alternatives based upon the analysis of the current status and historical lessons. Specially, with 1,350 years of history passed since the collapse of the Baekje Dynasty, the inquiries are related to how we are going to see the Baekje restoration force and treat those who devoted their lives for the dynasty. This paper is to provide the meanings for the future degenerations on the basis of contemporary perspectives with historical lessons drawn from the restoration force.
This inquiry, more specifically, looks at the intention and background of supportive relations among the restoration force, Goguryeo and Wae, Tang’s military operations that made Goguryeo passive, and Wae’s active dispatch of massive troops through their struggling processes. It’s traits are in the perspectives from the restoration movement as well as historical and military views on the war history. Academic contributions of it include the view points promoted by looking at the changing currents of the international military strategy and Northeast Asian regional and diplomatic situations of the 7th century based on the war history of Sabi Castle, Imzon Castle, Churyu Castle, and Baekgang Battles.
Problems of the study on the Baekje restoration force reside in the absence of accurate historical archives, historical views from the movement and political perspectives and resultive interpretations consistent on the restoration force, Thus, it is important not to repeat the wrongful mistakes from the history via ceaseless, thorough and self-reflective criticisms with objective visions on the domestic and international phenomena. In conclusion, this paper contends that we need to foremost prepare the future based on the past history and lessons from it and sublimate the sacrifice of the Baekje restoration force into the memorial service of their loyal spirits consoling the deaths on the battlefield and recognizing patriotism.
