성찰협력과정과 백워드 설계모형의 통합가능성 탐색 (A Study on the Possibilities of Integration between a Reflective and Collaborative Process and a Backward Design Model)

초록

본 연구는 역량중심 성찰협력과정과 이해중심 교육과정의 백워드 설계모형간 통합 가능성을 탐색하고 시사점을 도출하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 역량중심 성찰협력과정의 의미와 특징을 수업형성, 수업반영, 수업관찰, 수업성장의4단계로 나누어 고찰하였으며, 바라는 결과확인, 수용 가능한 증거결정, 학습경험을 담은 수업계획의 백워드 설계절차가 성찰협력과정의 수업개선 전략과 통합 가능한지 탐색하였다. 또한 백워드 설계를 기반으로 설계모형의 순환적 실행연구 틀을 구현하여 교육과정의 실행개선에 대한 기여가능성을분석하였다. 분석결과에 따르면, 백워드 설계모형은 성찰협력과정의 수업개선 전략 측면에서 상호보완적으로 통합이 가능하였다. 특히 성찰협력과정의 수업개선 전략이교수자의 전달과 학습자의 참여로서의 학습관을 형성하는데 도움이 되었다. 더불어 이해중심 설계모형과 역량중심 성찰협력과정의 통합에 대한 이러한 논의및 실천 과정은 사고력 개발 측면에서 실효성 있는 교육과정 설계모형에 생산적으로 기여할 수 있음을 시사하였다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the possibilities of integration between a competence-based reflective and collaborative process and a backward design model of anunderstanding-based curriculum. For this purpose, the study examined the meanings and characteristics of a competence-based reflective and collaborative process in four stages of forming a lesson, reflecting on a lesson, observing a lesson, and expanding a lesson. It also investigated whether the lesson planning procedure in the three stagesof the backward design, which include checking the desired outcome, determining acceptable evidence, and providing learning experiences, could be integrated with the lesson improvement strategy of a reflective and collaborative process. In addition, the investigator embodied a cyclical action research framework in a design model based on the backward design and analyzed the possibilities of its contribution to the improved implementation of a curriculum. The analysis results show that the backward design model could be integrated into a reflective and collaborative process in a mutually complementary manner in the aspect of lesson improvement strategies. In particular, the lesson improvement strategy of a reflective and collaborative process was helpful for learners to form a viewpoint of learning through instructional delivery and learner’s participation. Furthermore, these results were discussed with implication that it is highly recommendable to promote restructuring of the current understanding-based design model into a competence-based reflective and collaborative process, which will lead to establish a more effective curriculum design model.
