체육교사의 기계체조 수업 운영 부담 및 어려움과 개선방안: 기계체조 수업 경험 중심 (The burden and difficulty of the artistic gymnastics class operation by physical education instructor and its improvement: Centered on the experience of artistic gymnastics class)

초록

목적: 본 연구는 체육교사의 기계체조 수업 운영 경험을 통해 기계체조 수업의 부담과 어려움을 탐색하고 해석하며, 개선하기 위한 방안을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다.
방법: 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 현상학적 연구를 실시하였으며, 7명의 중등 체육교사를 연구 참여자로선정하였다. 자료는 2차에 걸친 심층 면담을 통해 수집하였으며, 공통적으로 발견된 의미 있는 진술이나 문장, 인용문을 강조해 분석을 실시하였다.
결과: 체육교사는 학생의 안전사고(척추의 상해), 교사의 전문성(보조, 시범, 교수·학습 방법, 질적 평가), 학생의 비선호로 인해 기계체조 수업 운영에 부담과 어려움을 느끼고 있었다. 안전사고에 대한 개선방안으로는 올바른 동작 수행과 기초체력 향상의 수업 운영, 교육기관의 시설 개발 및 보급, 교사의 시설 및 용·기구활용 능력 신장 등이 있다. 교사의 전문성에 대한 개선방안으로는 고등교육기관의 교육과정 개선, 연수 기회확대, 교육 자료의 개발 및 보급, 과정 중심 평가와 동료평가의 활용 등이 있다. 학생의 비선호에 대한 개선방안으로는 기계체조의 긍정적 인식을 높이기 위한 수업 운영, 흥미와 동기를 높이기 위한 게임 형태의 교수·학습 방법 개발 및 활용, K짐스타 프로그램 변형 및 활용 등이 있다.
결론: 교사는 ‘교육과정 개발자’로서 기계체조 수업 운영의 부담과 어려움을 개선하기 위해 교사, 학생 등 수업에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 여러 환경적 특성을 고려해 적합한 수업을 개발·변형하고 활용하는 끊임없는 노력이 필요하다. 또한 교사의 이러한 노력이 실제 교육현장에서 구현될 수 있도록 국가나 교육기관에서는 교육자료 보급 및 연수 기회의 확대 등 다양한 교육적 지원이 필요하다.

영어초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore, interpret, and suggest an alternative to improve the burdens and difficulty of the artistic gymnastics class through the physical education instructor’s experience in operating the artistic gymnastics class.
Method: In order to achieve the purpose of the study, a phenomenological study was conducted, and 7 secondary physical education teachers were selected as the study participants. The data were collected two in-depth interviews, and analysis was conducted emphasizing commonly found meaningful statements, sentences, and quotations.
Results: Physical education instructor felt the burden and difficulty in operating the artistic gymnastics class due to safety accidents of student (spinal injury), teacher professionalism (assistance, demonstration, teaching and learning methods, and qualitative assessment), and students' dislikes. Improvement plans for safety accidents include correct performance of action and class operation for basic physical strength improvement, enhancement of teacher’s ability to utilize facilities, tools, and equipment, and support for facility development and supply of educational institutions. Methods for improving the professionalism of teachers include reforming the curriculum of higher education institutions, expanding training opportunity, developing and disseminating data of education, and using process evaluation and peer review. Improvement plans for students' dislikes include operating classes to increase the positive perception of artistic gymnastics, development and utilization of game-type teaching and learning methods to increase interest and motivation, and modifying and using the K-Gymstar program.
Conclusion: As a 'curriculum developers', teachers need continuous efforts to develop, transform, and utilize appropriate classes in consideration of various environmental characteristics that may affect classes, such as teachers and students, in order to improve the burden and difficulty of operating artistic gymnastics classes. In addition, various educational support such as dissemination of education materials and expansion of opportunity for training are needed in the country or educational institutions so that these efforts of teachers can be realized in actual spot of education.
