원자력 홍보관의 탐방체험 활동에서 중등 영재반 학생들이 생성한 질문 유형 분석 (An Analysis of the Types of Questions Generated by Secondary Gifted Students in the Field Experiential Activity)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 중등 영재반 학생들이 원자력 홍보관의 탐방 체험 활동에서 생성한 질문 유형을 탐색하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 과학영재교육원에 재학 중인 122명이 탐방체험 활동으로 작성한 질문 423건을 분석하였다. 연구 결과 중등 영재반 학생들은 전공 영역과 관계없이 대부분 정보질문이 많았으며, 정보질문 중에서 절차질문보다 사실질문의 빈도가 높게 나타났다. 이해질문은 정보질문에 비해 낮은 빈도로 나타났으며, 이해질문 중에서도 인과질문은 일부 제시되었으나 귀납질문과 유추질문은 드물게 제시되었다. 본 연구에 의하면 중등 영재반 학생들이 제시한 질문은 낮은 수준의 질문인 사실질문이 주를 이루었으며 가장 높은 수준의 질문인 평가, 확장, 전략질문과 같은 통합질문은 매우 낮은 빈도로 제시되었다. 생물 영재반의 경우 다른 영재반에 비해 사회 분야와 관련된 질문이 상대적으로 높게 나타났다. 지구과학 영재반의 경우 다른 영재반에 비해 확장질문과 전략질문의 빈도가 상대적으로 높게 나타났다. 영재반별 전공에 따라 질문유형, 관심 차원, 관심 학문, 관심 주제의 빈도는 다소 상이하게 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 중등 영재반 학생들에게 적합한 질문 수업 전략이 요구됨을 제시하며, 전공별 맞춤식 영재수업을 위한 교수학습 방안을 모색하는데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the types of questions generated by secondary gifted students in an exploration experience activity of Nuclear Power Plant exhibition hall. For this purpose, we analyzed 423 questions that were written by 122 students who attended the Science Academy for the Gifted Education. As a result, most students in the secondary gifted class mainly presented information questions regardless of their major, and the factual questions were more frequent than the procedural questions. The comprehension questions were less frequent than information questions, some causal questions were asked, but inductive and analogy questions were rare. In this study, the questions presented by secondary gifted students were mainly factual questions, and the higher level questions, such as assessment, expansion, and strategic questions, were occurred at a very low frequency. In the case of biology gifted students, questions related to the social field were relatively higher than those of other gifted students. In the case of earth science gifted students, the frequency of extended and strategic questions was relatively higher than that of other gifted students. The frequency of question types, interest dimensions, interest studies, and topics of interest differed according to the majors of the gifted students. The result of this study suggests that the appropriate question teaching strategy is required for the gifted secondary school students and this study is expected to contribute to the teaching and learning method for the customized gifted classes.
