중국 ‘항미원조전쟁’ 드라마에 나타난 ‘해방전사’ 재현의 사회적 맥락 (The Social Context of the Reappearance of the Image of "Soldiers in China's War of Liberation" in the Chinese TV series "War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea")

초록

이 논문의 목적은 중국 ‘항미원조전쟁’ 소재 드라마에 나타난 이른바 ‘해방전사(解放戰士)’ 재현의 사회적 맥락을 규명하는데 있다. 이 논문이 드라마 <전화의 용광로(戰火熔爐)>와 <문무겸비 리옌넨(能文能武李延年)>을 연구대상으로 주목한 가장 중요한 이유는, 이 작품들이 ‘항미원조전쟁’ 소재 영상 서사에서 ‘해방전사’를 처음으로 재현시킨데 기인한다. 이 논문은 중국 영화·드라마 속 ‘해방전사’ 재현의 변천, 드라마 <전화의 용광로>와 <문무겸비 리옌넨>의 ‘해방전사’ 재현 및 그것의 사회적 맥락인 중국 사회의 대미(對美) 심리를 검토했다. 이를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 도출했다.
첫째, 드라마 <전화의 용광로>와 <문무겸비 리옌넨>이 ‘해방전사’를 재현한 사회적 맥락은 현재 중국사회에 친미(親美)·숭미(崇美)·공미(恐美)를 포함한 여러 가지 대미관이 공존한다는 데에서 이유를 찾을 수 있다. 친미·숭미·공미의 대미관은 이른바 ‘항미’ 이데올로기적 통합과 국내적 응집력 제고에 원심력으로 작용할 것으로 보이며, 따라서 신(新)삼시교육 및 친미·숭미·공미의 극복을 위해 ‘해방전사’가 재현된 것으로 보인다.
둘째, ‘항일신극(抗日神劇)’과 마찬가지로 이른바 ‘항미신극(抗美神劇)’이 탄생할 가능성 역시 배제할 수 없는데, 이는 상대국에 대한 정확한 이해를 가로막을 뿐만 아니라 국제사회의 발전에 도움이 되지 않는다. ‘항일신극’의 창작에 대한 성찰의 필요성을 강조하는 전문가 및 연구들이 다수 존재하며, 따라서 ‘항미원조전쟁’ 소재 영상작품에 대해 비판적인 시각을 지닌 연구자들의 지속적인 관심이 필요하다.

영어초록

The image of "Soldiers in China's War of Liberation" has long been excluded from the narrative of film and television works. This study takes the TV series The Furnace of War and Hero Li Yannian, in which the image of "Soldiers in China's War of Liberation" first reappears, as the main research objects, aiming to analyze the social context of the image’s reappearance in the TV series "War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea." This study examines the changes in the reproduction of "Soldiers in China's War of Liberation" in Chinese film and television productions and analyzes the reappearing images in the two TV series mentioned above. It considers the perceptions of the United States in Chinese society under this social context and draws the following conclusions.
First, the social context of the reproduction of "Soldiers in China's War of Liberation" in the TV series The Furnace of War and Hero Li Yannian originates from the current Chinese view of America, which includes three complex, multidimensional attitudes toward America, namely, "Close to America," "Respect for America," and "Fear of America." Nevertheless, this attitude toward America is not conducive to the formation of a unified "anti-American" concept and the enhancement of internal cohesion. Therefore, it is necessary to recreate the image of "Soldiers in China's War of Liberation" to promote a new "three-view education" and eliminate the above-mentioned attitudes toward the United States.
Second, with the introduction of anti-American film and TV dramas, there is a possibility that so-called "ridiculous anti-American films" will emerge. This not only hinders the accurate understanding of the other country, but is also unfavorable for the development of the international community. Film and television drama creation and criticism should interact positively. This kind of benign interaction is an effective way to prevent the emergence of "ridiculous films" on the subject of anti-American aid, and it is necessary for scholars to pay constant attention to this kind of interaction and actively participate in it.
