    1. CONTENTS (1) RESEARCH OBJECTIVES As water shortage according to global warming is anticipated and water quality worsening, water supply decline is frequently occurred, overall water problems are coming to the fore greatly. In this periodic times, most of military camps in our country are located in the upper region of rivers, which is source water area, and they use much water but some camps' facilities of water supply and sewerage are relatively low due to the remote location, etc. In case that some portion of used water in camps is substituted with recycling water, it can be helpful for water resources conservation, water shortage settlement, and water rate saving.


    (2) RESEARCH METHOD To find out water quality and water use status of military camps, materials were collected and analyzed through asking Ministry of National Defense for the materials and on-site visiting of military camps. And for the test, recycling water producing measure was decided with the object of a college dormitory which is similar to military camps in ages and lives communally. Besides, ozone reaction device was installed, and pH, conductivity, DO, and TDS were analyzed by HI9828 model, or multichannel measuring instrument of HANA Instrument.


    (3) RESEARCH FINDINGS ① For water quality characteristic of waste water, it turned out that soapsuds contained water is the cause of COD or turbidity, etc.
    ② Result of Pilot equipment operation.
    In case of trying to produce recycling water using filter film, the problem could be occurred that recycling water productivity became low due to the blockage of film, the temperature of waste water during the operation increased by five degrees or so because of the property change of raw water, and pH changed from 5.9 to 7.8.
    The property change of membrane filtered water showed the value of turbidity and COD met with recycling water standard when waste water was filtered with MF membrane regardless of raw water property, and for the chromaticity change of ozone and recycling water, the specific inflow of chromatic substance didn't happen during the study process, and the chromaticity of the treated water always maintained the values of under 10℃.

RESULTS Military camps have been are mostly constructed in the upper region of rivers and mountain areas, so used water there frequently becomes the pollution sources of the upper region of rivers. Besides, plenty of water for living and equipment cleaning is being used according to the communal living of many personnels and equipments.
    It is expected that when wastewater reuse system is introduced in these military camps, it would contribute to water resources conservation, prevent water shortage in remote areas, and reduce water use and rate from 20 to 30%.
