초등학교 수학 기초학력 진단검사 문항난이도와 문항변별도에 미치는 요인 탐색 및 예측 모형 비교 (Exploration of Item Features Affecting Item Difficulty and Item Discrimination in Elementary School Mathematics Diagnostic Tests of Basic Skills and Comparison of Prediction Models)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 첫째, 2모수 문항반응모형(2PL)의 문항난이도(혹은 문항용이도)와 문항변별도에 영향을 미치는 문항 특성 변수를 추출하고, 둘째, 2PL모형을 위한 LLTM(linear logistic test model)모형(2PL-LLTM), 예측의 오차를 허용한 LLTM모형(2PL-LLTM-R), 문항난이도 뿐만 아니라 문항변별도를 문항 특성 변수의 선형조합으로 나타내는 제한된 LLTM모형(2PL-LLTM-C)을 선택하여, 이들 모형으로 추정한 문항모수치와 2PL로 추정한 문항모수치 간 유사 정도를 탐구하는 것이다. 연구 자료는 2024년에 시행된 초4와 초6용 수학 기초학력 진단검사 자료였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 초4와 초6에서 공통적인 문항 특성 변수로 ‘그림 보고 해결하기’, ‘수/식/글을 보고 해결하기’, ‘덧셈과 뺄셈’, ‘곱셈과 나눗셈’ 등 11개를 추출했다. 둘째, 초4에서 ‘곱셈과 나눗셈’, ‘덧셈과 뺄셈’, ‘통계 관련 개념’이, 초6에서는 ‘도형 관련 개념’이 문항용이도과 문항변별도에 큰 정적 효과를 미쳤다. 셋째, 2PL-LLTM은 b모수, 2PL-LLTM-R모형은 a모수를 추정할 때 상관이 높았다. 또한 2PL-LLTM은 b모수, 2PL-LLTM-R모형은 a모수를 추정할 때 2PL의 문항모수 추정치와 절댓값 차이가 작았다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is twofold. First, it is to explore the item features as item covariates influencing item difficulty (or item easiness) and item discrimination in the two-parameter logistic item response model (2PL). Second, it is to investigate the degree of similarity between item parameter estimates obtained from three models item features—2PL-linear logistic test model (2PL-LLTM), LLTM with error (2PL-LLTM-R), and a constrained LLTM model (2PL-LLTM-C) representing both item difficulty and item discrimination as linear combinations of the—and the estimates from the 2PL model. The data used in this study were collected from the 2024 Mathematics Diagnostic Tests of Basic Skills for grades 4 and 6 students. The findings are as follows: (1) Eleven common item features were extracted for both grades, including “solving using visual representations,” “solving using numbers, expressions, or text,” “addition and subtraction,” and “multiplication and division.” (2) In the 4th grade, “multiplication and division,” “addition and subtraction,” and “statistical concepts” had significant positive effects on both item easiness and item discrimination, while in the 6th grade, “geometric concepts” showed the strongest positive effect. (3) The 2PL-LLTM model showed a high correlation with the 2PL model in estimating b-parameters, while the 2PL-LLTM-R model demonstrated a high correlation in estimating a-parameters. Moreover, the absolute differences between the parameter estimates of the 2PL model and those of the 2PL-LLTM for b-parameters and the 2PL-LLTM-R for a-parameters were small.
